I'd ask for 20%. They approached you...

25-30%.

If you have a personal use company car and a gas card...maybe 20% would be fine.

If you just got out of school you should probably shoot for ~25 percent, maybe more. Look at the job description and try to see what the stats are for that position. Your new salary shouldn't be dependent on what you are currently making, unless you made the mistake of telling them what you make.

My first job change out of school was 27%, and my second was 43%.

Using an offer to get a raise is risky

No, I'm still at my third job and have received two promotions. Not sure what the hostility is all about

You need to be willing and prepared to take the second job for sure.

No hostility. Just poking around to check the facts.

why?...especially since I KNOW they do not want me to leave...but they aren't giving me anymore $...even when Ive already asked...im an asset to them...where i work now takes time to get trained etc....i am in a very unique place...they need to cough it up...maybe an offer letter from another company will get their attention...they aint gonna fire me...they cant afford too

I didn't realize the jump from french fries station manager to burger station manager was that lucrative.

I wouldn't directly ask them to match it. Tell them what your new offer is and that you simply want to know what the current path for you looks like? They'll get the message and either match or tell you to GTFO.

Or ask them the Monty Hall problem and see if they get it?

That's where you're wrong. If you've been turned down for a raise as much as you say then you aren't as important as you think

Unless it's a terribly managed company they'll move on
