Wrong, it was Nov. 2, 1963, and we lost, 37-3.

I couldn't find any good history of the matchups with rankings and made a guess that they weren't #3 between then and 1964

It was mentioned earlier in the week. I consulted the College Football Encyclopedia to make sure. I didn't check every single year, but I'm pretty sure Ole Miss didn't come close to that in between the Mannings.

Edit: They were #17 in 1990 and #25 in 1999.

And then they beat us 21-0 in the rematch.

True story.

Out gaining us by nearly 300 yards, holding us to 84 yards total.

rofl'd

But seriously, it is pretty crazy.

The only difference is that the 1960 Sugar Bowl didn't really count for anything.

Yeah I saw that they hadn't been ranked this high since 1964 so I had a 1 in 3 chance

returns may be the best chance we have to beat them, because i have no faith that our offense can score against their defense.

The funny thing about Cannon's return is if that game happened today everyone would be bitching.

"Dude I know we won, but the offense is terrible. Dietzel doesn't know what he's doing! We only scored 7 points!"
