Jennings will be the QB unless we starts piling up losses. Harris won't pass up a JR QB jennngs with 14 games experience. Same for the next year.
I understand why people think this but I just refuse to believe it until I see it in this case. Also, if Jennings continues to put up the same numbers but we go 4-0 to end the season will you really care?

It's more likely Anthony Jennings is a closet monstar waiting to steal Aaron Rodgers' skill than it is for us to go 4-0 the rest of the way with 110-120 yds and maybe 1 passing TD a game.

Miles and company need another Mett, IMO...someone who just strolls onto campus and is basically already a top qb. There is no development going on with these guys.
By far the stupidest thing I have read in 2014

Mett came here in 2011, didn't play much at all. Started in 2012.
Mettenberger first 8 games - redshirt junior
112/200 (56%) 1419 yards (7.1 ypa) 7 TDs 4 ints
Jennings/Harris first 8 games - true sophomore, true freshman
89/173 (51.4%) 1500 yards (8.67 ypa) 13 TDs 5 ints
How about you STFU and let more than 8 games pass by. Too damn impatient.

Another enigmatic Milesism. Inscrutable.

Harris is better
Based off what?? Harris is hitting 37% of is passes with 2 TDs, 2 ints, and a passing eff. of bout 115 in his SEC play.
I don't care who starts, but I just don't get this Harris is better stuff.

What does that mean?
It means that there was always an understanding that the QB situation was an ongoing competition...that both guys were going to play...and that it was always known that the better guy was going to play the most. The situation was never settled. It wasn't settled before the "benching" nor was it settled after the "benching".

Miles will never win 8 games again now that Sabans players are gone.
Miles will never win a championship.
Miles will never win the SEC.
Miles will never ask Fisher to stay as OC.

Im so sick of the "Harris might tranfer rumors". That would be stupid if he did.
Why would it be stupid? Why should someone that talented stand on the sideline for three years while Miles indulges his obssession with Jordan Jefferson 2.0?

In 2010 Jarrett Lee was a better QB than Jordan Jefferson; so tell me about that one.

The Frosh looked awful in a real game situation with play familiarity, pocket presence and missed many wide open throws (20%comp).
The staff is taking the right approach to the QB situation and Harris can further his learning at practice and mop-up.

Why would it be stupid for Harris to transfer? He's got another guy only one year ahead of him who may be playing ahead of him for the next 3 years. Does Harris sit patiently for 3 years and hope to start as a senior?
AJ is not an NFL talent. If AJ starts in front of Harris for the next three years it's because Harris ain't an NFL talent either. Transferring won't help him. If Harris transfers, he'll do it for the same reason Rettig and Rivers did, a certainty that he's not as good as AJ. And if that's the case, it's no loss to LSU.
If Harris is indeed better than AJ, he'll surely stay, content in the knowledge that he'll win the battle during the offseason as he masters the offense.
In my opinion, next season Harris will take half the season to get the offense down well enough. During the first half of the season we'll see platooning as the coaches take advantage of AJs (then) mastery of the offense. The second half of the season will be all Harris.

"Harris is a better quarterback than Jennings, which is why our fans should just be patient. It will happen."
Just like it did with Lee and Jefferson, right? There is a history of ineptitude when it comes to making decisions regarding the QB. In Brandon's situation if he feels he is gonna sit for two more years it would be very smart to transfer now. As much as I would like him to stay, his skill set was never suited for LSU anyway. Auuburn and Baylor to name a few would be a better fit for his talents. With all that being said, it's highly unlikely because Cam loves the kid so much.

quote:If he's behind AJ for 3 years, then one of two things has happened:
If he's willing to potentially be behind the other guy for 3 years
1) Jennings has improved tremendously, indicating excellent development ability at the QB position by our coaching staff, which would benefit Harris more the longer he stays, or
2) Harris has turned out to be not nearly as good as anticipated, in which case it would do him little good to transfer as early playing time would just magnify how bad he was earlier.
Either way, transferring only makes sense for a deeply delusional mindset. Unfortunately, an 18-19 year old star athlete with a deeply delusional mindset would hardly be unprecedented.
