I think the spread has to do more with the fact that this game is:

1) In Tiger Stadium
2) This game is almost always close
3) LSU is coming off an impressive performance

I think right now you can say without hesitation that the Ole Miss program is trending upward. They have done an excellent job recruiting and they have a highly competent coaching staff.

With that said, LSU will most assuredly rebound with their young talent and Miles' history of coming back strong after poor seasons.

Don't doubt for one minute that LSU-Ole Miss will be a war the next few years.

I always enjoy Cowherd, he tailors his picks based on Vegas, and that's smart as those picks/spreads involve a lot of money so there's a lot more research than some analyst.

This is a big rivalry game probably more for OM than LSU. You can throw spreads out of the window. OM is going to bring their best game no matter what. OM has a quality team this year including a damn good defense and level of consistency that LSU has not matched.

He didn't used to do this, but got called out many times on it. Now, he does it some, but there is always massive excuses to support his thought process and why he made the choice he did. That's what I like about SVP.....he will come out and say hey, I was completely wrong...and leave it at that.

One of the reasons I don't like him is that he will rant about a certain topic and what he believes....and then he will have a guest come on that he knows is going to support his views....and then make it seem like his view is validated....kind of like it is staged....

He is right about 50 percent of the time. The other half he is contradicting himself.

Disagree with this. Colin has said many times the best radio is conflict radio when 2 people offer differing opinions. He rarely does what you mentioned above.

Also, read his book if you get a chance. Highly entertaining.

"LSU this year is just young," Cowherd said. "They lost too many guys in the NFL in back-to-back years. But I think LSU can beat Ole Miss."

Cowherd rested his case with a reference to the gambling lines on the game, which have the undefeated Rebels as only a three point favorite in Tiger Stadium against an LSU side that has already dropped games to Mississippi State and Auburn.

"Did you see the spread on that game, Paul?," Cowherd said. "What does that tell you? This is a down year for LSU, and against the best Mississippi team ever is a field goal spread? And Vegas doesn't build big casinos because they are wrong. In three weeks, who is going to be undefeated in the SEC?"

so is cowherd a positigah or negatigah or realist?

Ole miss has had some bad teams upset some really good LSU teams. Hopefully it goes both ways.

Oh yeah, he's definitely just a troll. But I have to say I agree with him. Vegas knows something. When I saw that spread, I felt very good about Saturday.
