Bodyguard - horrible trigger, can't turn laser on without adjusting grip.

Glock 42 - sorry, Glock fan boys, but they're having lots of problems. It's not your grandpa's Glock.

I purchased a blue label G42 on the first day of release.. found the G42 to be very problematic and mine was extremely unreliable. In every magazine fired, I had failures to feed and even double feeds, after the first round fired. Several of my co-workers also bought G42’s the same day and have had the same feeding and extraction issues.

the Glock 42 could reduce the company’s “Perfection” tagline to mockery:

uh-oh-is-the-glock-42-as-much-of-a-misfire-as-the-remington-r51?

Plus for a 380, it's quite big.

+1

I think the top pocket 380s in my book are the Kahr CW380 (decent trigger) or the Sig P238 (great trigger, but expensive and has metal frame). The Ruger LCP is also popular but it has a horrendous trigger too.

It's considerably heavier than the Kahr. If it's going to be carried in a pocket, it's definitely a negative for me.

YMMV

I purchased the bodyguard over the G42 simply because of its external safety feature.

Do you carry your BG in a holster that covers the trigger? If you do, the safety isn't really necessary.

It's obviously your purchase, but by settling for the two you've mentioned, you're skipping over a number of more qualified guns........

If Diamondback could correct their reliability issues, their DB380 would be near the top.

If he's sticking with a true pocket gun, I think the Shield will exceed that size limit.

Although as an IWB gun, the Shield is tough to beat.

EDIT: HuFlung... same thing. It exceeds the size category. Unless he wants to change his carry method to IWB.

I don't carry (as of now) but if I did why would you pocket carry? Seems uncomfortable.

yep, I even find IWB carry uncomfortable and yes, I've tried many holsters.

I'm considering switching to a pancake OWB holster. I wear my shirts untucked most times anyway.
