Dempsey's fried seafood ranks up there with some of the best.
It's absolutely my favorite fried seafood in BR. I, too, haven't eaten fried seafood in the longest. I had a poboy from Sammy's the other day that was meh. Otherwise, I haven't had fried seafood since working at Demp.

Eh...I will agree to disagree. I like the jam a lot. Some days it's definitely better than others, but I'd rather Dempsey's over Jambalaya Shoppe all day.
I just don't really think it's jambalaya tasting. Oddly, the dirty rice was similar. I think I just am not a fan of Dempseys rice dishes. They're dark and not the flavor I'm used to.
The girls would always make massive bowls of jam though, so it works for some.

I've had Rice and Roux on O'Neal a few times and thought it was pretty good. Didn't care for their gumbo, though.
I personally don't care for Dempsey's at all.

Jambalaya Shoppe is mediocre at best, but they're basically your only option in Baton Rouge. I would recommend going down to Prarieville to T-Wayne's or Gonzales to Lamendola's instead. However, if you can't do that, Jambalaya Shoppe will satisfy the craving.

Has anyone tried the jambalaya from Tony's Seafood? I know they sell it in large quantities.

Call Tramontes or maybe Bergerons and see if they would hook you up. They cooking big batches weekly for plate lunches. Don't see why they couldn't cook one up for you for the right price.

I'm cooking over 1000 gallons this friday and saturday. Chicken and Sausage. If you want some, you're more than welcome to come get some and take it to the game.
I'll be happy to do it for you, and you can have it for cost of ingredients. I do this every week for my friends and family. I've been out of town without my gear, and had plenty of people feed me, so I believe in returning the favor.

I own a catering company, bbq shop, and as of last week a gourmet hot dog / housemade boudin shop that's about to get a hell of an upgrade.

Do it. Jambo is a long time poster and has been in the food business for a long time. He's got way more posts than his post count indicates because due to an advertising matter, I believe, his TD handle was changed and his post count started over. You can count on him to provide you with a quality product at a good price.

I own 5 lots in mid city with commercial kitchens, salons, and a new parking lot.
I lease the bbq shop until we move into our new building in a few years, and lease the hot dog shop with a buddy until we open more in the near future.
We do have a few cooking trailers and boiling rigs, but they're for off site stuff and fun cooking at festivals.
