Garter snakes... I bet they didn't have much of a rodent problem.

....because stepping on a mouse while trying to find your way to the bathroom late at night is so much less pleasant than stepping on a snake?

I'd rather step on a garter snake than step on a mouse. How is this even a question? I don't want to get bit by a mouse. They transmit disease.

Being afraid of snakes is more manly than being afraid of mice, chicken

I never said I was afraid of mice. I only said that I'd rather step on a garter snake than step on a mouse.

Garter snakes have fangs, but they are at the back of the mouths. They would have to chew on you to break skin.

A mouse can just quickly bite you, and that mouse is probably infected with some sort of disease.

Your choice: harmless snake or possibly infected mouse?
