13 in a row? Okay.

ETA: He is utilized wrong, I'll give you that. But Quinn is a guy everyone loves to inflate. If we aren't going to utilize him right with pick plays and short passes, he shouldn't be on the field. Get a bigger receiver out there who is a bigger target.

I actually think we should go Vince Young. Give him one read and if it's not there run. However, mix up who he's throwing to lol

It won't matter. Jennings only has eyes for Dural. If he's not open, AJ will either try to force the throw or take a sack.

But if he does throw to someone else (which he has), that receiver will be a bigger guy.

people on this board need something to complain about. first, it was bring on harris. after seeing that failure, the rant wants something else. the coaches watch the qbs in practice and see more and better game film than anyone else. they don't want Jennings making a lot of reads or throwing the ball over the middle. he is a true soph. qb, no one else in sec starts a true soph. the whole season.

i've noticed in the last few games, the safety's shift to the outside to help the corners, leaving the middle of the field open for the most part. it's either that or they walk up to the line in obvious running situations.

If fans either in the stands or watching from home can see this, why in the hell doesn't our OC see it in film study and design plays where the first read is the slot receiver? These guys get paid handsomely to recruit and coach capable players. It's ridiculous that week in and week out we get a game plan that is as predictable as a pop warner offense. Ole Piss knows we don't throw over the middle. Les Miles and Cameron know we don't throw over the middle. How about this as a game plan for Saturday......throw the ball over the middle. Otherwise taking a knee on 1-3 and punting on 4th will be as effective as any game plan we've used this year.

Yet AJ was quoted in The Advocate this wk that he "has the mental down pat & just needs to work on the physical aspects" of his passing. As in what's causing him to over throw so many receivers. So, in his mind he's having no issues at all with knowing what he's supposed to do.This yr's a wasted yr for our two top rated, freshmen WR's, meaning we'll only get real use out of them for 2 yrs.

He was bad though. Really, really bad. Not saying he can't get any better, because his ceiling is certainly higher, but that performance was nothing to build on.

yeah, he had one great throw that was almost a TD but kept making bad passes. in such a limited throwing offense, the passes have to be very accurate. he wasn't and they gave up on him.

The scheme is retarded, that there is no doubt. They do nothing to help either QB. No misdirection, scripted play action, very little disguised runs and/or runs out of the shotgun.

You guys with all this 'throw the ball!!!11!' bullshite are killing me.

When going up against a top-flight defense, the LAST thing you want to do is play to your weakness. Ole Miss leads the country in INTs, and y'all want a team that's been struggling in the passing game all year to start throwing over the middle on that pass defense? That's just DUMB. Not to mention, it ain't gonna happen.

What'll happen is LSU running right at Mississippi and depending on the defense and special teams to set up scoring opportunities for the offense. And that's how it should be played.

No matter what, it's unlikely that LSU wins this game. that said, the best chance is to play to the team's STRENGTHS not its weaknesses. The worst chance is to try to do things that you're not good at against a team that excels at defending those things you're not good at.

what would LSU's record be right now if Zach Mettenberger returned?

The answer to that question is the issue.

It's not Miles, it's the QB situation…which I guess is also Miles.

agreed 100%. it's the least creative play calling in the SEC. it doesn't try to fool anyone. it doesn't try to exploit any sort of mismatches. it looks like they don't practice all week or look at the other teams film to watch their tendencies and/or bad habits.

1) The middle is stacked so we throw outside.
2) Run the play that Trey Q did for the 2pt conversion vs Wisky in from the left hash on a regular play. It will go far

I honestly want to know what do the run during practice? I hope they don't spend all day running out the i formation. It is safe to say they have gotten this concept down. They need to be focusing on the passing game for the entire practice period. They shouldn't run one damn running play.
