"Conversation between 2 LSU fans"

Not sure if posted yet. I've been laughing so hard reading this.
"Its time for a change, we can do better than Miles.
Wouldn't it be more logical to think we could do worse when no one in our history has ever done as well, much less better?
You're living in the past, things are different now.
Well, right now USC, Florida, Texas are just some of the schools with everything we have to offer who are struggling terribly with their new coaches.
Anyone can come in here and win 10 games a year.
And yet no one ever has. In fact, no other coach in our history has ever had back-to-back 10-win seasons, Miles has had 5 of them already.
Seasons are longer now, so that doesn't count.
Well, he's won a higher percentage of his games than his predecessors too.
You're happy with 80%?
Its better than the 63.5% LSU had averaged throughout its 111 year history before Miles got here.
You can make stats say whatever you want. His mismanagement has cost a bunch of wins.
Since he's been at LSU no other BCS school in the country has won as many games. There must be a lot of mismanagement out there.
That's just because he plays these boring cupcake games to pad his record.
Miles SEC record coming into this season was 52-20, over the same time period only Alabama is better at 54-18. The other 10-12 SEC schools have lagged way behind.
Yeah, but what about the games that really matter?
He's won more games against top 10 foes during that time period than anyone else in the country.
But when it comes down to a close game, you can always count on him to blow it.
Actually he's had 23 4th quarter come-from-behind victories, by far the most among active coaches.
Look, he's only won one SEC championship in the last seven years.
True, but why cherry-pick seven years? You could just as easily say that he played for the national championship twice in the past eight.
So? Alabama and Auburn have done the same thing.
Yes, each during the most successful run in their history - and we play them both every year. That's a pretty tough row to hoe. The SEC West is tougher than any division in history and the level of competition has to eventually be taken into account doesn't it?
It just seems we're always chasing the schools to the east.
No other coach in LSU history has beaten Alabama, Auburn and Florida in the same season - Miles has done it three times.
Whatever. Miles can't evaluate players.
But doesn't LSU have more active players on NFL rosters than any other school in the country. That suggests he's made some pretty good evaluations, doesn't it?
Maybe, but he can't develop them.
We just set a record for kids leaving early for the pros, a bunch of them two years early - seems like they're developing pretty fast to me.
That just proves he's doing les with more. Hee-hee, see what I did there?
Yes, you deliberately misspelled Les's name. Very clever.
Yeah it was. Anyway Miles' recruiting is over-rated. Every year he loses key in-state prospects and offers kids that don't make any sense.
Then how does he win so many games if he's such a mediocre coach?
He just out-talents them.
But you just said his recruiting was over-rated.
...when you bring up things I said before you're just baiting me.
My apologies. How do you feel about LSU's future under Miles?
Its the beginning of the end.
Didn't you say that after 2008 and then we got back to the title game a couple of years later?
What did I just say about bringing up things I said before?
Oops, sorry. Stil, you have to admit, the future looks pretty great with all these young studs.
I'm tired of hearing about the future. I'm tired of hearing about next year. We need to win NOW.
Well, we did just win a game 41-3 against a pretty solid team.
Yeah, but we didn't play Harris enough.
I'm not sure Harris puts us in the best position to win right now.
So? We should be planning for the future and he's the future.
I thought you just said you were tired of hearing about 'next year'...
You're really starting to piss me off now.
Sorry - that was last time, I promise. What was it you were saying?
That Miles is an idiot. I mean, look at him on the sidelines - he doesn't even have a clue what's going on.
Then how has he beaten national championship-winning coaches 15 times? Are they even bigger idiots?
You don't understand, he's just had everything handed to him - he got a cadillac, all he has to do is drive it.
Didn't he come in and before ever coaching a single game have to deal with the worst natural disaster in our nation's history, scattering his talent base out of state and forcing his players to have to room with family members for much of the season? And then there was the disruption of hurricanes Rita and Gustov as well. And of course he had to dismiss the #1 player in the country at QB, and then had to dismiss a Heisman candidate a few years later. He's lost quality coordinators to everything from head coaching jobs to Parkinson's but he's still managed to keep his assistant coach turn-over really low - that doesn't sound like he was just handed something to me…
Yeah, that's his big flaw, he's too loyal.
That's what you got out of what I just said?
Too stubborn and too loyal.
To his players or his coaches?
Both.
And loyalty is a flaw?
In football it is.
I thought it showed he has character.
Character is over-rated too. Winning is what matters.
But I just pointed out that he's won more...
Gaaah! You just keep repeating the same old things. You're a Miles apologist.
Um, what am I apologizing for, exactly?
That he's not Saban.
Ah, now I understand. You know, Saban wasn't 'Saban' while he was here. He only had a single season where he didn't lose at least three games.
Yeah but he was rebuilding. He left Miles all that talent.
All that talent that he went 9-3 with his last year here?
Yes.
Okay then...
Anyway, its not about Saban, its about Miles and all of his failures, all of his embarrassments. We're a laughingstock. I hope we lose enough games that we can finally get rid of him.
You sound pretty emotional about all of this.
No, I'm being logical. Logical, detatched and completely objective...
You know 'fan' is supposed to be short for 'fanatic', right?
Why are you so condescending?
Just pointing out a fact...
Yeah, well its my opinion and I'm entitled to it.
Aren't I entitled to my opinion too?
Not when it proves mine wrong.
Of course.
