Free government issued ID's are one of the few government programs I would support subsidizing.

Then we shouldn't use them to get guns. Since is a a threat to democracy and all.

This is the absolute perfect example of dems and their bigotry of low expectations when it comes to minorities.

Look at her other articles. She has some mental problems obviously.

Had to show mine when I got hired on at my current company...

In theory, shouldn't all these people have ID since they are currently employed..?

Previously, states in the Jim Crow South used poll taxes and literacy tests to keep American citizens from exercising their right to vote. That may not sound like blatant racism to you, but those laws specifically hit the uneducated and poor, which at that time were mostly racial minorities.
Those laws dismantled the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which worked until 2013 to fight the very voter ID law that Texas is using. That was until the Supreme Court cited the Act’s progress since it took effect as reason to do away with it.

Literacy test = going to the DMV for an ID?

quote:

If these laws were to spread, and I assure you that they will now that the Supreme Court has set a precedent, the NAACP suggests that 25 percent of the African-American population will be denied the right to vote across the nation.

10.5 million blacks don't have a valid ID? I find that very hard to believe.

Proof of why the voting age should be raised to 25.

The Reveille sucks.

Do they really think that women and people of color can't get an ID? It's not that complicated. You don't have to be a white property owner to get an ID.

The only thing blacks and liberals have in common is their belief of redistribution of $$$. They differ on just about every social issue from gay marriage to global warming. Pretty pathetic.

This is a part of Texas' law. They can get free photo IDs in order to vote.

NAACP doesn't have a problem requiring ID to attend their conferences. Why is it a problem when it comes to elections?

Since when do you have to be employed to vote?

I'm all for having an ID to vote, but your attempt here is weak.
