(Obligatory - Score More Points)

My thoughts:
(1) We need to score early and score first (get crowd into it); and
(2) Need to be able to sustain drives (means being able to run the ball and convert at least 50% on 3rd down);

We need to stop the run like we did against Florida in second half and against Kentucky....

We hold Ole Miss to under 100 yards rushing and we likely win.

Third down conversions. Ole Miss run D is very stout and should cause issues foe LSU, but because Les Miles enjoys banging his head against a brick wall, he will test their will early and often.

If they can find a way to convert some of those early on, it bodes well to open things up.

Be able to run the ball productively will be a huge key. It will be tough against a very good Ole Miss defense.

If the team is a arrogant as the fan base then we will be fine though.

1. Get pressure on Wallace.
2. Jennings needs to throw effectively (convert 3rd downs)
3. Beat them in the special teams category.

If the defense plays well, we win.

That is the key.

Not play ultra conservative to begin the game and get behind 14-0 early before opening up the offense. Offense needs to sustain drives to keep our D from getting tired. And avoid third and longs.

Unfortunately, I don't think we can do this with any regularity. I hope we play way above our heads and all the bounces/calls go our way. Ole Miss defense appears to be for real and we can't have a bunch of 3 and outs.

The offensive and defensive lines. Whichever team's plays better wins the game.

Unless Wallace goes for 400 in the air.

That's just not gonna happen, so dont include it. And Harris would be just as inefective, so this isnt a Jennings vs Harris thing.

We have to stop them. If the defense shows up to play and can keep them down we can eventually break through, but if we go down 14-21 points early, were screwed. Our passing game is miserable, but the running game can work eventually against Ole Miss.

1. Control the clock
2. Convert 3rd downs (offense AND defense)
3. Win turnover battle

Do this and we will have a shot late in the 4th with an electric TS...can't ask for much more against a good team

1. Withstand early onslaught.......don't let game get out of hand early
2. Show some semblance of a passing game early
3. Take "SOMETHING" away from Ole Miss offense/make them one dimensional/have to beat you doing ONE thing
4. Since Wallace can run, our DB's will have to play less man/more zone/not turn their back to the QB as much. This makes a pass rush from the interior line/LB's key.

Pressure, confuse, contain Wallace.
Have the crowd revved up to 1959 levels when OM has the ball.
Contain OM pass rush.
More great ST play.

1. +2 Turnover margin.
2. Minimize early three and outs.
3. Avoid long drives in which the D gives up 3 or 4 fricking third downs (kills me).
4. Take advantage of field position when offered (I don't see us sustaining a bunch of 75+ yard drives).

I don't think Jennings is so bad that he can't show up for a game and have a decent passing day.

I agree, problem is I dont put the fact that our passing game is awful all on his shoulders. I dont think he can be put in a position against a good defense to do any good. I could be wrong, and hope I am, but nothing has led me to believe otherwise.

Don't wait till the second quarter to start playing. We seem to have done that most of the time this year. If we are to beat O'Piss we are going to have to play from the opening kick off. Also tackle better!

The defense played great against UK, and that was largely due to not being on the field 90% of the time. We all know we are going to insist on running up the middle with a minimal passing threat, and that has to work like it did against UK. The problem is Ole Miss has the best or second best D we've played all year.
