Why do LSU fans leave football games so early?
1. Opponents other than Bama, Notre Dame and USCw aren't worthy of the truly cool LSU fans
2. Temperatures below 70 degrees are unworthy of the ultra-cool LSU fans
3. Super cool LSU fans don't stay at the game when there's a party starting at 8:00.
4. Absence of a guaranteed spot in the playoffs is offensive to the magnificently cool LSU fans.
5. Running plays, however successful, are beneath the dignity of fabulously cool LSU fans.
6. Dealing with traffic and interminable drives to Denham Springs and Hammond are an insult to the outrageously cool LSU fans.
7. Who gives a shite about football? The adolescently cool LSU students only care about pregame and STTDB.
Seriously--the intimidating Tiger Stadium atmosphere is an historic artifact, not seen in the current millenium.

I think it's baton rouge traffic. Traffic is probably worse on a day to day basis than any other SEC city, minus maybe Nashville.. The traffic became a lot worse after Katrina. But combining the amount of people the game draws, plus the amount of existing traffic makes it tempting to leave early.. but the truth is, as others have stated, you're still gonna sit for awhile.

They don't really like and/or understand the game of football - they just haven't realized it yet.
They show up to Tiger Stadium expecting a party, but there's just a football game. They quickly get bored for the reason(s) I state above so they leave.

Have ever heard of the pussification of America?
Well the last 5 pages describe the pussification of LSU fans.
Me and my son will be there Saturday night until the game is over.

Because for some reason LSU fans think the best thing about being in tiger stadium is leaving it.

Style of play
You can't be serious..
How many of the top ten LSU passing years were in the last decade

quote:this is so ridiculous. So many people leave just after halftime that if you stay til the end of the game there shouldn't be any traffic. I bet the poor sobs that leave with 10 minutes to go in the third quarter have more traffic to face than anyone else!

Casual fans who don't invest any part of their lives to LSU football have taken over the stadium.
Just last night they had a family of 4 sitting behind me and I could hear them talking. From the first quarter on, they kept telling their kids that they were leaving at 10 o'clock, doesn't matter where the game is at. Their reasoning was "because we have a long drive home".
Of course the kids didn't want to leave because they were having a good time and getting full on concessions, but sure as shite 10pm came and they left.
That's usually the attitude as to why most people leave. It's not about the game anymore, it's about the drive home and the bed times. Going to the stadium is a family outing with no other goal in mind except to spend QT with family.

Seen from your point of view, this is a truly irrefutable point--a gold-plated valid reason for leaving early. From her point of view, however, it's not so clear.

Here is something no one brings up but ol the seats/bleachers in TS are down right uncomfortable even with the chair backs after a few hours and add that to the now 4 hour game and it can be down right miserable.
Why are you sitting down so much? Stand up and cheer!!!!

fricking this. My god I've never seen a more redundant topic in my life.
People can leave if they want to. Get the frick over it.

I sit in the stadium club so I never leave early. They cut it(serving alcohol) off at the beginning of the 4th. If we could get fans to stay until at least then, that's a positive for me. Some people treat their football tickets as vacation money so they try and make the most of the experience like tailgating and partying.
People drink out of boredom and when they are nervous. So, a beer might keep you in your seats for a couple more series. Lol

The game day experience has become a pain in the arse.
