is the upcoming draft a good time to trade up

With the way the season is going, we could probably trade down and still get a replacement.

I wouldn't focus on it, but if an Aaron Rodgers situation occurs in the draft and the perfect guy fell to where the Saints are drafting then they should do it. Brees's biggest problem this season is the O-line is not giving him a great pocket and he is rushing throws that he would not have. CSP needs to use that 10-15 pick this year on a can't miss O-lineman.

I assume the fans over there are mostly diehards and have been watching him closely.

Actually most of them are rantards that just circle jerk each other.

A QB's true decline (or at least the one which there is no hope of coming back from) is when his arm starts to go.

Brees' arm is just fine, he is just making uncharacteristically bad decisions this season. He used to be the master of the wide open checkdown to the back, now he seems to be pressing the ball downfield too much.

The saints couldn't run the ball today and he still doubled the amount of points the lions average giving up and because of one interception you say he is done?
Stafford had 2 ints today and was given a gift set of downs to come back.

Is Matthew Stafford done?

Yeah okay, meanwhile Brees just threw for over 300 yards and his team still was in position to win.. But he's done? Alright

Dud he threw the game away on that last pic. He take a sack and the saints win the game. It wouldn't be as big a deal if he wasn't a 20 mil/year QB. When you are taking up that much of the payroll and duck up like Brees has you will deservedly get lots of heat.

If you are comparing Brees with Stafford then you have a problem

Too many issues on the team to blow a top 10 pick (or worse, to trade up and blow HELLA picks a la the falcons w/ Julio) on a QB now. Even with his regression over the last 2 seasons Brees is still playing at a top 10 level (he was like 24 of 30 for 310 and 2 TDs at one point today). They're better off just focusing on getting better everywhere else right now. When the time comes to move on, we can always get rid of him, tank 1 bad year and then draft the guy... At least then the guy is surrounded by talent and doesn't end up like Matt Ryan.
