You definitely picked the wrong day to go to the DMV. As a rule of thumb, you should never go on a Monday or a Friday.

Why did you go? Many of those things can be handled more efficiently. Maybe look into that while you are waiting.

What are you having to do there? I paid my TT&L for a car I bought at an authorized notary who does the same service as the DMV. Walked out with my license plate in 10 minutes. They charge a convenience fee but it was worth it to me. I went to the DMV on Independence a few months ago and there was a line out the door to take a number. Screw that place.

If you're in Louisiana and just getting a renewal or change of address, you don't need to go to the DMV anymore.
You can go to certain notary shops, pay an extra 18 bucks and get in and out.

Go find one out of town. I had to go to one on a Friday before a holiday a few years ago in BR, and ended up going to the New Roads DMV. In and out in 10 minutes, on a Friday.

Just went through that too. After the written test, take them to a driving academy and pay for the road test. We went to Stop N Go at the corner of Monterrey and Florida.
