Well I had a ton of suggestions, but your request was so specific that none of my suggestions would work for you.

Sorry. Maybe someone else can help.

Sorry. We are staying in the warehouse district but really anywhere downtown would be doable. I guess I should ask what are the best downtown resturants

What do you want to wear? What do you want to spend? You looking for upscale? Casual? Small plates? Ethnic?

We were thinking one casual dinner and one upscale place. I was thinking the red slipper and cafe du monde for breakfast but wasn't sure on dinner or lunch recommendations

Skip Ruby Slipper. If you are dead set on Cafe Du Monde... by all means. Enjoy. I'm not a huge breakfast fan in general, but I can stomach a beignet and I enjoy their coffee. An alternative would be Eat if you wanted to try something different.

For a lunch and dinner, I would recommend Butcher for lunch and Peche or Herbsaint for dinner.

Yeah, the first two make it easy to get out with an outstanding meal under your belt and not a lot of money spent.

Or Peche for lunch and Herbsaint for dinner if you really want to double dip on Link. Certainly there's nothing wrong with Butcher -- I am a fan. But if you don't make it to New Orleans regularly I don't know that it's a place you have to try.

Fair enough and I like your suggestion in switching Peche at lunch for a Herbsaint dinner. That's what I'd roll with if coming from out of town.

But go in the opposite direction and hit Slim Goodies for breakfast. FYI, its still cash only, I think.

You can't go wrong. Also, after one of the above, try to do dessert at Emeril's. Just go to the bar and get the banana cream pie. You will thank me later.
