You are in the crack between Sand & Lookout Mountains. Sand Mountain is between you and Guntersville (to the West). You are only 30 miles from one of the best bass fishing lakes in the nation.

Weiss is a crappie lake but since moving to Louisiana, I doubt Weiss's fame for self labeled best crappie fishing in nation. Guntersville is a relatively shallow lake with tons of old creek channels running through it. Good grass and huge bass grow there. Both are fantastic and worth getting a line wet. 10x the freshwater fishing than Louisiana (outside of Toledo Bend maybe).

I'm gonna have to check that out next time we come up. This is the 4th time we have been here in the last 5 years. Beautiful up here.

Yes, about 30 miles NW. It's on the northern end of Guntersville Lake.
