I know we had countless threads from LSU fans on here like sunnydaze praising A&M and now there are crickets since they have been getting blown out of stadiums.

Just wondering if anyone is still on the A&M and 5 million a year Sumlin bandwagon?

No ... Those people won't because they would rather score points and be entertained than win ball games

Where it gets difficult to defend les and Co is when we aren't winning

Well, they have a good young QB, not sure how that happened.

what about the auburn brand of football that beat LSU 41-7?

or the miss state brand of football that beat LSU in tiger stadium at night?

Never was, gimmick offenses with porous defenses is a losing team...now, a gimmick offense with a hell for stout defense, maybe a different story...
I think most LSU fans don't want the "Air Raid" offense, but want a balanced attack while using a 3 WR set vs a 2 TE set where the defense loads the box with 8 or more...

Not sure why you are changing the subject.

Im asking specifically about A & M. There were several threads whining because we don't look like A&M.
A&M pays more to get blown out of stadiums than we do.

They are idiots, as is everyone calling for the "spread". Using the shotgun doesn't mean you have a spread offense.

Our problem is that if we are down, we don't have much hope to come back.

I agree.

I'd like to see us open up a bit too but I don't think we need to abandon a power run game especially with Fournette coming on strong.

Yeah I sure wish we could switch to the "mississippi state brand" of football that leads to 19 losses in 20 years.

The only thing aTm has that I want for LSu is consistently decent Qb play.

I guess I should be sorry that I think LSU should be able to consitently complete 1/2 of out pass attempts. Thise expectations are just too unrealistic for most of you, ans especially the head coach.

The problem is most posters on here, especially older more "traditional" ones, don't understand the difference between the systems. MSU and Aub are more than happy to run the ball more than throw it, they just do it out of a vastly different system than LSU or Alabama does it. But a lot of folks just see that as "that spread crap" and think it's the same thing as what Texas Tech or Baylor is doing

I'm ok with any offense that is productive. All that matters is having an elite defense. Elite defense combined with any decent offense works for me. The trend is for the spread being around a while. The NFL is trending the same way.

When it comes to criticizing Les, many of people on here don't let the assistants be a part of the conversation because it "starts at the top".

It must start at the top for 5 million per year Sumlin

we don't have to abandon it by opening it up.

that'll just ease up on the stacked boxes some if you have a semblance of a passing threat. no defense respects jennings at the moment. which is why the LF/OL performance was impressive on saturday, UF knew it was coming and couldn't stop it.

now imagine if jennings could 'un-stack' the box by keeping defenses honest. you'd see LF all up in the 2nd and 3rd levels much more often.

that's kinda funny, there's some on here that believe that only the assistants deserve the blame.

With a choice, I'd rather have their 2013 offense vs our 2014 offense. Their defense is what is holding them back from greatness b/c they can put up a shitload of points.

I guess we aren't all going to find an even ground for who deserves "blame" but I feel that both our offense and defense needs work.

The interesting part is that I have more confidence in the offense coming on stronger as the season goes along than the defense.

Our front 7 is weak. I like beckwith, kwon, godchaux and hunter but the depth isn't there.
