Actually on second thought my favorite is Delirium Tremmens. It's a Belgian Pale Ale. It's a white bottle with a pink elephant on it. Any liquor store that sells craft beers should have it.

A lot of what I've seen mentioned are just decent beers to get at places that aren't geared towards having a great beer selection. I'll drink an abita amber or purple haze every time over a bud light.

Blue Moon?
Shock Top?
I don't know why this got downvoted so much. Blue Moon is the beer I see most people that normally drink light beer go to and act like they're being adventurous. Along with Stella and Heineken. At least the blue moon presents a different flavor all together I guess.

Coors Light or Bud Heavy are the only cheap mass-produced domestics worth drinking (unless you're counting Rolling Rock or Yeuingling, which I don't) - and even then, only when you're tailgating or at a dive bar.
In 2014, there are just too many good beers available to settle for the sewer water that the good folks at Bud Lite & Miller Lite pass off as beer.

Blue Moon with an orange slice is as pretentious and laughable as Corona with a Lime. Both scream out got no clue, but I like to pretend .

I prefer anything local - NOLA, Tin Roof, Parish, Covington, etc.

In Portland, it's probably Widmer Bros. Heffe or McTarnahan's for people who want to act maven-like. For people who really know craft beer, I can't tell you what they drink. Everything, really...

Sam Adams anything.
Sam Adams makes a lot of decent gateway beers, and they do make some pretty solid beers once in a while. I wouldn't say Sam Adams makes someone look like they're trying too hard unless someone tries to tout SA as some great brewery.
Stella is a perfect answer for this thread, imo. Blue Moon is a good pick, too.
