If you're a HS QB looking at colleges, this is something you might consider, right? So LSU is no good at developing QBs? Schemes??

And the only legit starters from that group are Stafford, Newton, Cutler, and Tanneyhill.

Last year's experience-laden SEC crop of the 4 M's (Manziel, McCarron, Mett, & Murray) don't appear to be anything more than journeyman NFL backups.

Mett may one day have his shot like Flynn did, but like Flynn, he's probably best suited to backup a franchise guy.

I wonder what conference dominates with NFL starters...or is sending 4 starting QBs on par with conference averages?

So Les has developed 2 current NFL quarterbacks and the Ole Ball coach of Fun and Gun fame has none.

I don't know that Les developed Flynn or Mett

Mett succeeded despite Les

And none of that makes up for the fact that we have had 1 competent QB in the last 7 years

We don't need NFL qbs. At this point slightly below average would be a huge improvement

Are you talking about Florida? Because that argument is easily defeated... Percy Harvin is still playing and Tebow was a winning NFL QB and a great college QB.

Percy Harvin is not a QB, he is a WR; Tebow is not on any NFL rosters...he's an unsigned free agent.

obviously not.

He's at South Carolina, and has no QBs in the NFL either.

Was never a QB, even in high school.

Im not the biggest Eli or Peyton fan for that matter but pretty sure Super Bowl winning QBS are legit starters.

This thread is terrible btw. It would be like who has the most punters in the NFL????? LSU!

So basically LSU should be QBU, DLU, DBU, STU, RBU, WRU right?

Cough cough.... Connor Shaw.... Cough cough

Oh and this entire thread is dumb.

Do you know which school is "QBU"? fricking Purdue.

Go look at all starting QBs in the NFL and see where they went to college.... It will be just as spread out as the SEC is.

You don't have to play at a big school to be a good NFL player. I mean the best WR in the NFL ran the wing T at Georgia Tech. The best TEs played college basketball. The best LB went to Boston College. Joe Flacco is a Super Bowl winning QB and he went to Delaware. The best Safety went to Utah. The QB that is front runner for MVP right now was the QB at NC State.

it doesn't matter.
