he's basically a tight end who can throw a little better than average. which is how he was recruited, he was an unranked 3 star.

Mullen has done a great job at turning him in to a budget Tebow, but Mississippi State has spent the past few decades being very Mississippi State-ish, so that 4 year project was out of necessity more than anything else.

he redshirted, then played a few series a game as a freshman (Prescott, not Mullen. it would be a violation for Mullen to play), then was very average last year (10 TDs, 7 INTs, 176 ypg) before improving this year.

he's worked hard and he and Mullen deserve a ton of credit for where they are now, but it's the kind of thing you can do when your only realistic goal most seasons is to not finish last in your division. the same people trying to use Dak as this weeks unsubtle way of bashing Miles would have boo'd the exact same player off the field last year, and then been proud of it.

edit: the phrase "a budget (whatever)..." simply means someone started with something not as good as the original but then made it almost as good through sheer effort and ingenuity. "a budget Tebow" is not an insult in any way. everyone pretending otherwise has either never heard this very common phrase used in sports constantly, or theyre just dumb in general.

The guy is really good.

Saying that, no one relevant recruited the guy as a QB other than State. Same thing for Robinson.

does not win a Heisman. This kid may very well win the thing

Dak is much better than a TE who can through. If you really believe that your an idiot. If he stays on pace for what he's done already hell most likely win the Hiesman. He already much better than tebow as far as nfl potential as well. Kids good just live with it and give credit where's it due.

Dak Prescott wouldn't have been a good fit for running the power-I

So, yes. We need to stop with the Dak talk.

This is why Tiger fans are let down so easily. The refusal to give any opponent credit. Give the guy he's due, he's been great this year.

If he had done the same thing at LSU the last couple of years, the same fans that are ripping LSU for not getting him would have been ripping LSU for offering an unranked 3 star who they felt obviously wasn't good enough for the SEC.

He's having a damn good season and is leading that team. He also made LSU his bitch and made us tell him that we liked it. Get over it.

QBs are supposed to develop when they receive coaching. That's what merlins has done. Dak is playing well.

He's not refusing to give the guy credit. He's saying LSU fans need to calm down about us not getting him.

Good point, but I'm willing to forgive LSU fans for not understanding a concept like QB development.

I'm not going to even go through the entire garbled mess you call a post and fix your errors but the selection I quoted above reeks of pot calling the kettle black.

i literally said, "he's worked hard and he and Mullen deserve a ton of credit for where they are now..."

is this some kind of weird deflect thread? because miles didn't offer him until late in the process and took stephen rivers over him?

this is pretty ridiculous. he's a legit heisman candidate and made LSU's defense look silly.

Did y'all not read his post? He did not discredit Prescott. Maybe a little with the TE comment, but his post was more about our fans than taking anything away from Prescott.
