COP about to plunge again after a morning of sliding laterally.

They are in my buy range, but I just keep watching it slide

It's dropping too quickly so I'm going to watch it for a bit

Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) looking attractive at 57.77 and nearly a 4% dividend. Hell, all five Canadian banks are closer to 52 week lows than highs, and these banks are known for being steady with great dividends.

Unilever (UL) is a must buy as it dips below $40 today.

F and INTC are also looking ripe...down a respective 3 and 5%

Kelloggs (K)is below $60 with a P/E of 11.71 and a dividend of 3.3%

Same here, but I'm sure we'll get there. Ok, I'm done sure, but I hope this more than a month long downward trend.

edit: for oil and gas

Consider this as a panic buy. I've set up an order to buy at 65.40. I'm nervous it's bottomed and won't get to 62. Let's see if it fills.

I sold most of my stocks about a year ago to buy a house and have been saving up cash ever since. Thinking about getting back in. Looking at some of the "Big Oil" companies that pay nice dividends. Anyone have any advice?

A lot of Big Oil is near 52WL. You can't go wrong with any big company like Exxon, Shell, Chevron, Hess, ConPhil, etc. They WILL come back.

Since I'm really just starting to acquire stocks, I'm going to be a buy and hold long term type of investor. I really like the nice dividend stocks so I will look into these two companies. I really hope the market didn't hit its bottom; I want to see it test those lows of last week again so I can add some more companies.

Me too. I am 31, and have added COP (27 shares), WAG (30 shares), and tomorrow IBM (10 shares) for long holds just keep reinvesting those divvies.

KO and IBM thoughts? Seeing they took some hits over the past couple days. Looks like a good time to get a slight discount. Thoughts?

I like Coke long term but I think you'll be able to get it for cheaper in the next year or two. It's not going anywhere anytime soon IMO.

I missed my chance last week. Later this week IF I buy anything at all it'll be IBM or F.

I wouldn't touch KO until it's in the $37s.

So I didn't buy IBM. Seems like they need to get their shite together - translation: it's going much lower, because this will take a lot of time. I can buy this down the road, maybe even in three months after the next call when they underwhelm again.

Again, looking for a long hold with a solid company, solid dividend growth, hitting on all cylinders. That company is 3M (MMM) and will be mine tomorrow. It's a little pricier than I would typically like to pay, but their earnings call is Thursday morning before market opens. I really hope buying tomorrow is the smart move before a probably good call Thursday will send the price much higher.

I understand buy low, sell high, but I truly believe IBM has quite a bit more tumbling to go before it's time to buy low.

Why does everyone love F so much? Not saying anyone is wrong, but I've done no research on F. I never hear anyone talking about how great of a future American cars have. It's always Germany and Japan. Interesting.

KO and MCD are really interesting cases. Long time favorites running into some headwinds. Some say it's because Americans are waking up to the sugar and fat in their products, but are we giving ourselves too much credit for apparently eating healthy? I would like to know how much more international growth potential these companies really have especially in BRIC countries.

I'm looking at F now; looks like a solid discount at the moment with a 3%+ dividend. Is is currently in buy price territory?
