Kevin Mawae stated a players only meeting reeks of desperation among the players. Does anybody know where Miles stands? I know Les can't appear desperate in front of his players. But what about in front of his staff of coaches, any desperation showing up there, anyone? Miles truly loves his players, curious how it has affected Les?

The only time I've heard of players only meetings is when there is a divided locker room, guys aren't playing for each other, etc.

The only time I've seen a talented team play as horrific as LSU is when a divided locker room exists.

Team only meetings typically don't fix this issue. Get ready for a long season.

You know, sometimes younger players need a good kick in the pants from the older more experienced players. And sometimes that comes best with players only.

You don't win as many games as Miles has done by being desparate and overreacting. When asked to describe his team with one word before the season started, Miles said "Unknown". In my opinion looking back, that was a Miles-ism for "I sure hope they grow up in a hurry". He knew exactly what he had and what he's got. We are outmanned right now with inexperience and youth. I'd bet there is no panic. Despite the youth, they know that they can play better and they're working on that.

I would bet good money that the locker room has been somewhat divided since the MSU game.

No he didn't. He thought his defense was good enough to win a punt-fest, field position game. If he knew his defense was going to be weak there is no way he'd go into these SEC games looking to play field position. He'd be trying to score.

One of the benefits of everybody sucking is no division. It could be The punter versus the rest of the team I suppose

I was a sales manager and was very successful; but there were a coupla years that went pretty bad. my point is that in those down years there was a lot of struggling and "pressing". the adversity tested each and every one of us and things looked very bleak indeed. we had some heated meetings and accusations flew about each other and about my leadership (behind my back of course).

but it made every damn one of us stronger; at least the survivors. we emerged as a better unit and incomes soared the following years.

desperation is a short term word. the season lasts longer than a person can be desperate. what i'm trying to communicate using this analogy is that this team will emerge stronger from having stood up and fought adversity. there may be some that fall aside and it will be the weakest. the strong will get stronger and LSU will not only survive but get back on top.

having said all that, our coaching staff just can't whiff on signing OL or DL anymore. we sign way more than our share of skill players but we need to double down on the lines of scrimmage.
