I wasn't attempting to put MJ in the same category as Prince, trust me... just acknowledging that he could actually pick up an instrument and play something..

Word.

From my understanding Off the Wall and Thriller 's workflow consisted of Jackson recording solo demos consisting of drum machine, bassline, and vocals. He brought that to Quincy Jones who would flesh it out with session musicians.

Could MJ even play an instrument?

there's this video I saw of him explaining that he didn't really play an instrument but he would come up with the melody, guitar, bass, and drums all up in his head and explain to studio musicians what he wanted done.

guy was a musical genius for pop music

He's basically what you would get if Jackson and Elvis had a baby

I don't much like Michael, so you don't get it at all.

The question was about talent, not appeal, not influence and not what we like.

Not only that it was just a bit of levity captain serious.

You like Elvis. We get it.

Elvis wasn't worthy to suck Jackson's dick.

Doesn't matter. He was too old for Michael anyway.

Little children were more worthy than Elvis. That's how shitty Elvis was and how great Jackson was.

Musical/Songwriting acumen - Michael

Singer - Elvis

Entertainer - Tie

Pop culture importance would probably go to Elvis but that doesn't necessarily equate with talent.
