I get why it's postponed but the videos are a bit odd. I'd have no inclination to make a "private" communication so "public."

Maybe for the Right to Die cause I suppose

I mean I get that. But part of the reason given for laws against this is stopping people from making a bad decision when they are in the wrong state of mind. Her changing her mind just reinforces the control by govt saying "you can't make that decision"

That was my first inclination this morning, but I decided to just look at it as a change of hear due to a rush of pleas for her to postpone the decision.

Not many people wanted to see this girl die this quick, and maybe that gave her the will to live.

Chalk the public nature of her actions up to activism for more states to allow its citizens the right to terminate their own life.

I'm tired of this woman. If that is her choice, fine. But, I think it's demeaning to people who face and fight a chronic or terminal illness to the bitter end to act like this chick has so much courage. She is choosing to die out of fear and robbing her friends and family of precious memories and time. Which fine. If that's your choice, then do it. Buy don't paint yourself as a saint while doing so.

It's a FAIRLY permanent decision. It's scary as frick. I don't blame her at all for being apprehensive about the date. She probably recognized she might not have the strength to go through with it on that day. Nothing more.

Something tells me the people you're referring to completely understand her position.

Also, live and let live. Not hurting anyone else.

I have a sick kid. And while.hes doing really well right now and could be for a long time, the reality of his condition is scary. So, I feel as though I get to have an opinion here. Time looks different when you face these things. There is never enough. What's enough? Seeing him as a teenager? A 20 something? A 50 year old? The fact is there will never be a day when I say I've had enough now. The future is very scary, but he (like this woman currently) is doing okay. And I couldn't imagine throwing in the towel out of fear of what's to come because we simply don't know or we think we know because we've done a a lot of googling and heard horror stories. That day will never, ever come. And not just for me. My boy would never throw in the towel either. It's not who he is. And I do think to put this woman on a pedestal as the patron saint of courage in the face of adversity is disgusting. Live and let live, absolutely. But, do it without the media blitz and blogging and videos.
