ain't gonna happen this season.

the issue is preparation and cohesiveness. this team has little of either. These things are made in the offseason

This team is very weak on the LOS on both sides of the ball. Not much can be done if the lines are this bad. Offense could be a little better if the scheme fit the personnel better, but it would not make this team a championship contender.

We need to sign 6 DTs, 5 LBs, 5 OL, and 4 QBs in the upcoming class - with 2 of each being badass JUCOs who are ready to play immediately.

Then - we need a makeover of our offensive and defensive staffs.

Well most coaches would change a scheme that isn't working at all so there is that. On defense I have no idea, maybe shake things up a bit and make it fun, be hyper aggressive and maybe use something like the bandit package we used against UF in '97. Put the corners on an island and send the house. When it looks like you are at a talent disadvantage you go to something that evens things out.

Nothing can be done this year except to keep teaching and pushing the young guys to get better. I say we take our lumps with Harris and get the young guys on the field more.

I'll reserve my judgment until the end of the season as far as the staff is concerned. I want to see how adversity is handled and if we can show improvement over the course of the rest of the season. Off to a horrible start.

The OLine needs to start executing. There is really no excuse for them to be playing like this. they all took a huge step back this year.

I keep waiting for them to click and figure it out. We can't do anything on offense until they get their act together.

TIME...2 years from right now the announcers will be reminding us that the LSU team we are watching is basically the exact same personnel from the disasterous 2014 season.....and it will be in disbelief because the Tigers will be so good in every aspect....TIME.

Perhaps. But there is no reason for us to operate on some roller-coaster 4 year cycle.

This is perfect time to let Cam do whatever he wants on offense. We are already losing by 20 points to every team in SEC west. Why not make it exciting for recruits on offense?

Like anything else in the world it takes:

Talent - need much more
Strategy - needs to significantly change
Preparation - needs plenty work
Effort - seems okay so far
Execution - needs much improvement

All but effort and execution are coaching issues. The answers are not easy.

The defense should learn the 'tackle ' play

No fixing this year. We do not have the players. The atrrition has caught up, since we whiffed in the 2012 recruiting cycle. Old philosophy of being ultra conservative on offense, great defense and special teams no longer works. If one is unwilling to chnage base philosophy, it will get no better. Why do you think saban agrred to open up his offense? He sees the writing on the wall. There is no more 10-7 games when you are playing great teams

Time and game experience. Hang in there, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

A perfect example of fixing this is exactly what gary patterson did with his offense. After 2 years of trying to win with defense, old school ground and pound offense, he changed to what everyone else is doing and seems to be working great so far this year!
