OB Phone Advice: Water/Dust Resistant Phones from Verizon

Gotta get a new phone today because I just dropped this one..
looks like it maybe a LG G3 or Samsung S5.. getting ready to go look at some, both look big as all hell compared to my incredible 2
But both are water and dust resistant and specs are about the same but the camera on G3 may be better.

dropped my G3 in the sink less than a week after getting it. It was a little glitchy at first but seemed to be ok after a day of letting it dry out. I still filed an insurance claim on it because I didn't want it to fail on me later down the road.
Once I received the insurance replacement, I took the old one and wanted to see how long it would last before it crapped out under water. I submerged it and it stayed alive for about 45 seconds before the screen blacked out.
In all my research, I don't remember the G3 saying anything about it being water resistant... But the S5, I believe that's one of their selling points.
I haven't had any experience with the S5 but if you're truly looking for water resistance, I'd go that route, not the G3.

They all seem to be getting bigger.
I want something that will fit in my front pocket.
Everyone suggests Lifeproof cases, but those make the phone bigger too.
Might want to post something on the tech board too.

I bought a Lifeproof nuud case for my iPhone 5s, and highly recommend it. It's a slimmer case compared to the Otterbox, plus it's water resistant.
I highly recommend this case to anyone curious about it.

This exactly. I've been very happy with mine. Some people report having problems hearing/being heard, but I haven't had any issues.

Lifeproof was bought by otter box. I just bought the otterbox preserver case for my iphone 5, no complaints. I like it much better than my lifeproof case I had.

My current phone is the Droid Razr M. It's basically the smallest phone they had. The chick kept trying to sell me on the bigger phones (more $), but I stood my ground. It's been a good phone and does have a water-resistant board in it. I just had to replace it after the screen shattered (about the 50th time it was dropped). It was dropped in the bathtub once and actually went through the clothes washer another time. The battery life dropped off, but I returned a working phone (shattered screen, of course) to Asurion.
ETA - I'm not even sure if they sell the phone anymore. It was purchased about 2 years ago.

I had a lifeproof case on my iphone 5. I loved it. When I was fishing a couple of weeks ago on the white river I had several fish right at my feet and I stuck the phone down in the water and took a pic of the fish (which turned out remarkable good).
I just got a 6+ and I'm going to miss the lifeproof until they are available.

i just went through this, i went in and was blown away by how big the phones were..
i literally thought they were just small tablets
but this store has the worst showroom selection i have ever seen and the girl wasn't really trying to be that helpful.. after i said,"i'm just looking.." he said,"then i'm off to lunch!"
but i am looking at getting a Samsung Galaxy Mini 5 with a waterproof/shockproof case, this is going to suck more than i thought.. damn cell phones

I have a Samsung s5 and I really like it, it's water proof to some extent. Wife spilled water all over hers and it was fine. It's sealed up pretty good. I have mine in an otter box case and it has been in water with no issues. Let's see an iPhone handle water...lol
