ATT MicroCell help

I purchased a Microcell b/c cell service in my house is shite. I can't get the microcell to connect. I activated in the store and plugged up at home and get all the way through GPS connection and it just stalls before final activation. It is supposed to take 90 minutes but the final activation light just blinks forever. I've tried all troubleshooting listed in manual. Anyone have experience with Microcell? Any suggestions?

did you pay or complain. I'm gonna go complain route but need guidance and tips for success. My service is horrendous at home.

Complain.
Here, they know they have issues, and have lost a lot of business because of it. My office is pretty much the center of gravity of this town, and my house is in an older well established neighborhood. I can't get more than one bar at the office, and maybe two at home if I walk outside. If only Cellular One had decent phones.

I barely have 1 bar with 4g data. I get dropped calls all the time.

Yeah OP, place it near a window or whatever you can. There absolutely used to be a help desk specifically for this device. Call att and listen to the options.

I tried 3 different units before one worked... Try to deactivate it online and go through the process all over again using the serial number on the unit. After 3 tries call and request another unit and they will ship a new one. Don't struggle with one for more then 30 days because they will only send out refurbished units after that time.

Gonna have to return the unit for a new one. It's near a window and still not working. On phone with tech support for an hour last night and they couldn't help and suggested returning the unit.
I paid for the unit. I went and gave sob story about terrible service and threatened to drop them and they didn't budge.

Thanks for posting this. I'm experiencing difficulty with ATT in my home, too, and was considering this solution. Maybe I should rethink this?

You have to call the customer service line and bitch. It will not happen the first time you call, but every time you have a dropped call or bad reception, you should call and complain. I still had to pay for mine, but they also gave 6 months of unlimited texts ($30 a month) to offset the cost. They also gave the credits all the same month that we purchased the unit, so we didn't have to come out of pocket at all.

Like others have said, place it by a window.
I have a long ethernet cable plugged in, so was able to extend it out to the window to catch gps and then move it back to my entertainment center after.
It definitely helps out with calls and texts. The main thing that sucks is that it still takes several minutes to text photos via the Microcell.
Other than that, it's been pretty reliable.
