I have noticed the black jacket and khaki pants trend over the years (...3-4 years maybe). At first it confused me, but it has grown on me. I have noticed people wearing brown and black shoes, but I cannot decide which one is more appropriate.

Help me decide...

I am sure it is nothing new, but I only noticed people freely mixing the two over the past 5 years or so.

Well, I don't look like those guys...

It looks good on many guys (no homo), so I thought I would give it a try. We'll see... I have been thinking about it for years.

Doesn't matter. I don't wear black even to funerals.

I don't think I've ever seen the black jacket/kahaki combo. Sounds pretty awful though.

Black sports coat is as much a staple as is a blue blazer.
This is not a trend, more of a tradition.

And I'd go black shoes, and belt.

I've seen it on trendy types. E from Entourage wore a black sportscoat with tshirt and jeans. I'd guess one could do it with khakis but I'd think blue blazer.

Are you sure it's not dark navy or charcoal? Black coat/khaki pants sounds like something people who rarely wear a coat and tie would put on. I work in an industry where suits/sportscoat are the norm and I've never seen that combo.

Am I the only one that thinks black jacket/khaki pants is not ok?
