Also at the Elmwood Theater in Harahan. Get tickets online.

Also saw Wizard of Oz there a couple of years ago, too. Totally different experience than at home.

That would be cool to see on the big-screen.

I saw GWTW on the big screen at the Robinson here in Shreveport and I was very glad I did. It certainly deserves to be seen that way.

What did I miss with this movie? I was bored out of my mind and turned it off after about 20 minutes. I honestly cannot recall ever being that bored watching a movie. What is so wonderful about this movie? Or is it just one of those movies it is cool to pretend you like?

I enjoyed it, but i didnt think it was the best movie i had ever seen or anything close. I had to break it up into about 3 viewings.

I'm with you. I actually sat through the entire thing because I had promised someone I would, but I don't get the appeal.

I can certainly see why some wouldn't like it, but it really is an amazing movie when you consider when it was shot. Just an incredible effort from a filming standpoint. Also, still crazily one of the best female roles ever. Love the speech post-vomiting radish.

I like the scene when she hoodwinks Frank into marrying her and then forces Ashley to go into business with her.

Every female secretly or not so secretly identifies with Scarlett O'Hara. If you can drop a compliment or two referencing Scarlett, congratulations on the sex.

The movie itself is a masterpiece, albeit a fantasy. The world it depicts is not gone with the wind, it never existed in the first place.

Rhett Bulter is the prototype OT Baller.

My husband even agreed to go with me. Major brownie points he scored there.

One of the best scenes in the book though, with Scarlett and Rhett on the porch during the siege of Atlanta sadly did not make the movie. A truly awesome conversation between the two that I imagine created a little shock when the book came out and makes me really enjoy Scarlett all the more.

So if someone doesn't like a movie you like, they are automatically a mouth breather who only likes sex scenes and car chases? Got it.

Wow. The South lost.

Seriously though, the scenes of the wounded in the yard and the post war desolation were very powerful.

If you don't enjoy Big Sam grabbing the reins to Scarlet's buggy & saying, "Hoss make tracks," you aren't human.

Saw it in a theater in Natchez in the 60's as a kid. I think they showed it every year as part of their pilgrimage celebrations.
