Wow just watched snl on DVR

So it's gotten this bad huh? Just took it off the season pass
That was god awful. Oh yeah and the token black guy on weekend update was awful. Lorne Michaels said they had pressure to get a minority on weekend update so once again affirmative action ruins everything

there are four black members on cast right now. that show has never had issues with minorities. shite, they have a lesbian on cast right now. i would like to see Lorne's quote about pressure to get a minority on weekend update.
also, i've said this about 80 times on this board already, but if you are over 40, you are over the demographic SNL cares about. sorry, but if it didn't have the ratings it wouldn't stay on. the reception in the SNL in game thread was generally good, btw.

Look my main point is the new weekend update was god awful and I googled him and saw where Lorne michaels put him there to have a minority on weekend update. My point was its a shame where he couldn't have just put the funniest guy or girl.

It was really, really, really (I could go on) terrible. The new guy didn't look comfortable at all and couldn't even manage the basics of timing jokes.
This is going to be a rough year at this rate. The opening segment of the season premiere was painful. The top tier in this cast, hosts, and guest stars are going to have to carry the crap out of this show. On the plus side, very little Vanessa Bayer this week.

I normally defend the show against people bitching about everything on it but Saturday's show really was pretty awful.
From beginning to the end it was pretty bad. They need to by canning Jay Pharoah. The guy they brought in to replace Don Pardo is so bad that initially I thought it was either a joke or my speakers were messed up.
Hopefully they find their legs because there are still some pretty talented people on the show.

Isn't it Darrell Hammond?
Yeah, that intro was awful. It was like he was just reading the lines. Pardo's intro kind of tied all of the SNLs together. Now it feels like a different show. I bet Pardo wouldn't have cared if they had someone do an impression of him.
