Who to start, Josh Booty or Rohan Davey?

Who remembers this?

It was obvious who to start, Rohan Davey but Saban stuck with Booty for a while as his starter and the next year Booty moved on to do great things in the NFL.

I worked at Wells Fargo with Joe Domingeaux and Kyle Kipps. I sat right beside Joe. I asked him why did Saban stick with Booty for so long.
He said because Booty deserved to start. Booty out played Rohan Davey every time in practice but we found out the hard way that Davey was a gamer.

I guess it's the same with Jennings/Harris. Jennings may have been out playing Harris in practice because he's been in CC's system for 2 years.

I hate QB controversies more than Alabama, saying that, I hope Brandon Harris get's the nod Saturday.

This is something made up by the rant. Harris is a true freshman and Miles wanted to go with the more experienced guy. I don't think there's more to it than that.

I don't know this just like you don't know the true freshman bit.

The difference between the two QBs throwing is ridiculous.

Comparing this to the Davey-Booty thing is amusing because Booty spent 3 years on NFL rosters. Jennings is not going to spend 3 years on NFL rosters

Truth.

No doubt. I probably wouldn't have started a thread with that premise either.

Jesus, just stop. Luke McCown has been in the NFL since the late 80s and Vince Young didn't make it 3 years. They are both way to young to even think about this and who gives a shite about the NFL right now.

No, my point was we don't know what they see in practice.

Were you trying to make a point with that?

McCown played 4 years of college ball and NEVER had a rating sub 122. We'd have creamed our collective jeans if Jennings had looked like McCown did in college.

Booty was also winning games and Rohan got hurt, this isn't the same situation.

some people are quite capable, yet others seem to do better when the exam is handed out....this is what it seems to be with Jennings and Harris.

And wasn't Booty a 1st time all-sec qb?

These two and Nall all made NFL rosters. None played that much in the league, but all three had better arms than Jennings. Does that mean they were better QBs than Jennings? No, but it did open the door to the NFL for them. I don't care about the NFL either, but it is obvious that Harris has a much stronger arm and so far he has been more accurate as well. I'll give you on limited throws.

That 14-3 game versus Arkansas was so bad.

And we hated him with fire.

What a weird season.

Lost by double digits to Auburn, lost to UAB (which I'm pretty sure Booty was at fault and Saban had no problem throwing him under the bus for) then beat #11 Tennessee (tore down goal post) and then got raped by Florida.
