Boar Mount

My boss paid to have a russian boar mount done for me for a company boar hunting trip we went on last year. It came in recently and when one of my best friends came over and saw it his first words were "Thats so disrespectful..." WTF do you say to something like that?? I was stunned and didnt feel like arguing.

i would laugh and say "what the frick"? then i would ask him why he thought it was disrespectful and question why he didn't have the same reaction to people wearing leather shoes and eating cheeseburgers.

Good point. We have all of the meat stored in my freezer and intend to eat all of it. I always thought of mounts as a way to pay respect/honor the animal. I was pretty pissed at his comment but more shocked than anything.

A little later he said "If I were to hunt Id imagine Id just eat the animal, not hang it up in my damn living room..." I just shook my head, laughed and changed the subject.

I'll try to take a better picture of it when I get home...the one I have on my phone is of poor quality. Im not sure if I would have spent my own money to get it mounted but since the company paid for it, I couldnt refuse.
