There are some pretty damn smart people who share this opinion

I don't think it has to do with intelligence, but more about not being a dick and telling responsible adults how they can live their life.

It blows my mind that some people honestly believe that we should instill an adoption system that guarantees that a child will not have one of the following: a mother or a father.

I'm going to just end this conversation now before I start hating you.

But you haven't raised any kids. Why is your mind on this question so important?

But you're misframing the question anyway. Not equating same sex couples to traditional couples <> preventing people from raising a child

So adults can do whatever they want. Screw the children that could be psychologically damaged. I saw a study from LSU suggesting it, so it probably isn't legit.

ETA: Last thing. The people on here acting like I am an intolerant a-hole are the real intolerant assholes. I've showed that I have a differing opinion that I am willing to discuss. At no point have a said that I hate gays. Or that they don't deserve kids. That's not where my logic is coming from. But I guess the conservative view that has been the norm for thousands of years is automatically intolerant.

Kids are psychologically damaged everyday by straight parents yet no one is knocking on their doors.

Can someone from the non a-hole side tell this guy why this is faulty reasoning?

Doubtful, because this "conversation" is not about actually debating anything.

Oh what a surprise, you're laughing. Make another holocaust joke, mr popular.

But, seriously, why should anyone care that it "blows your mind" that people still think it's not a good idea to place kids with same-sex couples? Have you done a lot of research on the topic?
I know that you don't have any relevant experience.

But again, you know everything, despite having done nothing.

Your obsession with me entertains me, I can't help it.

You don't know anything about me, but you're acting as if you do -- and you think I'm the arrogant one? That's special.

We must define arrogant differently. I only know what you post about yourself.

When I searched for it. (Loren Marks) This is one of the first things I found. "In this context, it is of great note that Loren Marks, a Louisiana State University Associate Professor, earlier was disallowed from giving expert testimony in a Proposition 8-related case when, under questioning, he admitted he had cherry-picked information from studies he had not read, and that he knew nothing about same-sex couples." LINK

It might not be the most ideal situation, but IMHO the biggest set back that these kids face is by people who would rather judge others on sexual preference and not any real standard of being a model citizen or human.

Also to get off topic, I went back and listened to the MIB night of 100 stars, and kinda got pissed at joakim noah. He reminds me of those hipsters that wear English or Mexican jerseys when playing the USMNT.

Agreed. I RA'd and made a thread on the Help Board to get rid of this.
