Any mutual interest with JUCO DT's and LSU? Seems like a good JUCO DT would jump at the opportunity to come to LSU right now considering the lack of quality depth at the position. Really can't count on a true freshman to come in next season and be a contributer at that position so we will be in the same predicament (well other than that everyone will be one year better and Godcheaux and Neal will have an offseason to get a little bigger) next season unless we get one or two on board.

But seriously, that's a common thing to post on this board when people think LSU needs immediate help, go sign a JUCO player. Well, the JUCO's LSU has signed lately haven't been any more ready to contribute than freshman, sometimes less so.

There are no immediate fixes, you cannot afford to make a mistake like Mickey Johnson over Chucky Hunter, it will kill you long term.

but they have worked out at other programs, so they can help here as well.

Pretty much JUCOs and walk ons stopped Auburn's top 5 run game. Also, it has to do with the JUCOs we have gotten.

We haven't gotten a JUCO D lineman since 2009, and he didn't even get to play.

I'd like for LaCouture to slim down a little (280-275), and play DE next year along with Bowers. We then start LMFAO and Valentine at DT. Beckwith at middle with Debo and Fiest as starters. I'd actually like Garrett to take one of their spots if possible. Three hog mollies on the line with bigger, but just as fast LBs. Jefferson, White and Robinson as juniors, plus sophomores in Paris, Battle, and Adams. Not to forget Thomas and incoming Toliver.

We just need to to let these underclassmen linemen become upperclassmen.

It makes a huge difference having Juniors and Seniors vs Freshman and Sophomores.

DL will be fine next year, except they will still be tired bc the hat runs his 3 dives and out offense.

You'd seriously rather all of them over Godchaux (sp)?

I do think the coaches are going to start making a stronger push for the top JUCO players. With guys leaving after 3 and 4 years who used to stay under the old CBA, it's more important to get guys who can come in and play right away than it use to. You got one year of starting out of the #1 ranked DT in the country and he never developed into the player they thought he would be. JUCO guys give you a little more certainty that they can help you right away or at least after one year of a redshirt. I'm talking about the top guys, not going after the marginal ones.

Yeah, can't agree with that. Especially LMFAO who hasn't shown anything. Godchaux, on the other hand, is going to be a stud eventually. I'm glad we were able to keep him.

Isn't he red-shirting due to his injury?
