Any thoughts on this? I don't understand what the kid was doing just blindly walking around with what looks like a real gun.

Stolen from the OT for clarification.

looks like he was contemplating suicide. cops come in and see a gun on the ground, kid comes out from the corner and the rest is history. everything happen in a split second. putting myself in the cops shoes i would have prob done the same thing

Horse shite. The kid was looking at food or whatever was in that section. He wasn't even aiming the weapon. I usually favor the cops, but this is murder through and through.

Kid was acting like a POS/shady.

Kid put gun down.

Kid was still shot because the cop was scared. That's not enough justification for the government to shoot people. Sorry. The government should be held to a higher standard. If he were in my home he would be dead, though.

A lot of cops unfortunately are too stupid to be able to deal with conflict in a nuanced way. Once they *think* their life is in danger it's pew pew pew time.

To be fair, the vid was sped up.

He was walking around the store with the gun on his shoulder for a bit of time.

I didn't hear any shots after the initial one that sent the kid diving behind the end cap when the cops were down the aisle. When he ran back toward the cop, all I heard was the cop saying get down.

Dumb kid shot by dumb police. The difference is that we should expect kids to be dumb and police to have better judgement.

I get that, but we have no audio of his phone convo the whole time he was walking with the gun.

Who knows what was being said.

x2

And I know it's easier said after the fact, but it seems like the cops could have very easily gone down the aisle next to the kid, down to his end, and turned the corner and tackled him without a shot (BB or otherwise) being fired.

The 911 caller lied about him aiming it at kids, waving it around, etc and should be charged accordingly.

The guy who made the 911 call that brought the police to the store apparently lied to the dispatcher, saying he was pointing the gun at people and that he (the caller) saw him (the deceased) put bullets in the gun.

Then the local cops come in amped up on Mountain Dew, adrenaline and a chance to be a hero and we have another dead, unarmed black man.

Probably wouldn't have happened had he not walked around the store with what looked like a real gun.

Play stupid games...

Play stupid games, get shot by the government - no questions asked? I take it you're a "small government conservative."

I walk around in public with a gun, I don't want to get killed because i'm doing it.

That's interesting.

There are parts of the kid when he wasn't on the tape. Is it possible that happened then?

I don't really know.
