In the market for a new suit

Where is the best place to get a decent suit that has people who actually know what they are doing when it comes to sizing and tailoring? I would like to stay under $500. This will not be a daily wear.

black lapel
eta:
$5-8 to get a tailor to size you up, fill out the account detail on BL, pick a suit (you can get a navy, charcoal or black for under $500). It takes about a month to get it in, but shipping is free, no taxes, and it fits like a glove.

If you're not on a time crunch Google "Dillards semi-annual tailored clothing sale". The people working in Dillards are always very good at putting you on a decent suit. The next sale will come up at the beginning of the year I believe. 50% off of $800 suits ain't bad.

They still sell Hart Schaffner Marx suits? I bought a few of those at Dillard's and took them to a tailor several years ago.
Brooks Brothers outlet is a good place to get suits if you'e going to be in the Destin area any time soon

you aren't getting the real brooks brothers suits at the outlet though, you get the 346 brand which is garbage compared to the real stores.

They have a lot of the HSM suits marked off right now. Have been able to grab a couple of gold trumpeters there in the past for way off what that they normally would be and they are decent half canvassed suits, especially at big percentages off.
