LSU doesn't ever use them right. Seems like every other college knows how to use them. JJ was a bust. Jennings isn't looking good. Then we have Harris who isn't starting and should be. We recruited R'S and he never threw a pass. I think we should stick to a pro style qb as long as Miles is calling the shots. Last year was a treat. Heck, even Flynn looked decent. :inb4racistposts:

You do realize that JJ was a top 10 Pro-style quarterback coming out of high school correct?

I'm not sure if I totally agree with you, but I'm always skeptical how effective a dual threat QB can be.

HOWEVER, the one thing about Mett's game that always drove me nuts was his cement feet. Having a mobile QB isn't a bad thing.

JJ was dual threat by default because Lee was white.

yea you don't put a dual threat guy under center 80% of the time. But from all accounts Harris wasn't truly a dual threat in HS. He preferred to throw the ball but got the Dual label because of his athleticism. Labels DT and Pocket Passer aren't always true

We tried to get Kiel. It didn't work.

Doesn't matter what style QB you recruit. Only matters if they can fit into your scheme.

Jennings does not scream dual threat.

I'd take J. Winston (just give him free crab legs), Johnny Football, and any of the current or past Oregon QB's all day long. We have struck out on recruiting so far.

I have the want to see Harris (Dual) play at least 50% of the next game. If he is lights out, he should be the starter. We need the stronger arm and i think his mobility is better. The plays are scripted i don't see Jennings making any audibles at the line of scrimmage. I know what play is coming and i am a 9 year old girl.

This has nothing to do with the QB then. Having the freedom to change a play at the line comes from trust from the coaches based on your experience. Neither AJ or BH are experienced enough to check out of plays, yet.

Yet people are literally bitching in the thread below that we didn't get Zak Prescott.

My understanding was that Jennings isn't a true duel threat guy. He was recruited as a mobile pocket passer.

I have seen freshman and sophomore QBs audible. They are capable, but our coaches want full control. If you are a top recruit and are going to LSU you can audible.

Too bad you can never adapt that.

JJ had 2 All State Receivers at DHS.

More importantly Miles wasn't his Coach.

There are audibles called, but it comes from what Cam is seeing from the box. Jennings is probably capable of checking out of a bad play into a better one, if Les would allow.

A redshirt senior plays better than a true sophomore and freshman 9 times out of 10
