Cam already showed he can progress a QB with what he did with Mett. Receivers are good now. In 2 years with having potentially best best WR group ever at LSU and 2 stud RBs. The kid already showed his arm and his wheels. Who is to say we don't have a sturdy Defense and run spread as he progresses in knowledge. LOVE THIS TEAM! LES MILES is working with what he has, a Sophomore lacking skill, and a Freshman lacking knowledge. I think he is doing a great job.

I don't think a back-to-back national championship in 2015 and 2016 is out of the question here. Les Miles is bringing us far with this team and I love their chest and never say die attitude. They never quit on Saturday

the kid has all world talent. however, we have a huge problem on the oline so it will be hard to be all world while 1. being on the bench for making plays. 2. when playing having 3 players that aren't a threat to do anything at all on the field and 3. having zero time to find a open guy because the line is being bullied.

miles said we should have an advantage with the i formation today at his presser

he's not going away from it. expect more of the same no matter who starts, sadly.

I was listening to the radio here in Portland today and they were talking about Mariota getting 7 sacks and the Oregon offensive line forcing him to run for his life.

Against the mighty Cougs of Wazzu, no less.

Basically the radio dude concluded that Mariota might have to win the Heisman by himself because the O line is giving him little help this year.

I don't necessarily agree but yielding 7 sacks to Wazzu is pretty awful. LSU isn't the only highly rated (formerly now) school struggling with the O line.

I didn't listen to his presser but I'm not surprised. wisconsin shut down our stupid power I and state had their way with us when we were in it. We wore down Sam houston state and ULM so we will do the same to new mexico state. Miles refuses to do the right thing.

Does LSU based the game plan on the opponent? Why not exploit the weakness of an opponent versus trying to run the same shite every week?

IMO a good team should have a balance. You clearly want to take advantage and attack a teams weakness but you also need to play to your strength. LSU has a real issue with not using gimme games as a chance to improve weak areas.

I'm not ready to write the kid off like many have seemingly already done, but that is going about 4 steps too far.

And they have a real issue running a simplistic offense while recruiting the wrong type of QBs for it. And Miles has that offense be so reliant on having excellent offensive linemen so that there's no margin for error.

But won't Jennings be our QB IN 2015 AND 2016? I don't think he is going pro early. Harris will have his time in 2017. Fournette and Dupre will be gone though.

Apples and oranges, but this is what I always liked about the way Skip Bertman managed throughout the regular season. He used the entire regular season to groom and develop the players he would need down the road. He often caught a lot of shite for staying with pitchers longer than people thought he should have but he was focused on developing players, not winning every regular season game.

Granted, in baseball, you have a lot more tolerance in terms of losses you can sustain and still be in contention at year's end.

But (getting back to football and your point) we really should be using this weekend's game to give Harris some more meaningful experience. Kid has a LOT of potential.
