My biggest pet peeve is the wasted time coaches are talking after every play

My biggest pet peeve is that the LSU coaches need to have a discussion over the next play after every single play.

This was very obvious when the play call took 10-20 seconds to come in every time we had a first and goal within the 3 yard line. Shouldn't the coaches have the next play ready to go before the previous play is over? Especially in goal line drives, barring something very odd, the next play is either short yardage or an extra point.

This has to be my pet peeve for all time, but it showed up on the very first play LSU ran this year. After Leonard Fournette returned the kickoff against Wisconsin, he looked to the sideline for 5-10 seconds as if to wonder whether he should stay on the field. Don't you think that he should have known whether he was in for the first play already?

Is all of this a sign of general disfunction that plagues this team?

My biggest is not valuing every possession of the ball and wasting them until we get to the 4th Q.

You didn't find the 20+ second runoff and screen pass with 3 seconds left before half to be a good offensive possession against a team whose weakness is defending long passes?

I had totally forgotten about that. And from what little I recall, the whole timeout situation before that when they had the ball was equally bad.

Yeah, I can't seem to shut up about it because it was representative of the coaching mindset. We were down 14 and knew MSU was getting the ball after half. We ran the ball on 1st and killed the clock before calling a timeout and throwing a meaningless screen pass. I don't know if it's confidence of stupidity. That was a perfect time to air out a couple of long ones (which Jennings does well) and hope that Dupre or Dural (who comes down with more of those than just about anyone) would come down with it and lead us to some much needed points.

We started the game with three conservative runs before punting and ended the half with a laughable series that didn't test their weakness. At least we're consistent!

My biggest pet peeve is that Mississippi State physically beat our arse at the line of scrimmage, offense and defense.

Think about that. Mississippi State has a better offensive line and a better defensive line than we do.

Mauser you are right on with the two lines. We get man handled by State . Just think what the rest of the schedule will be like. This team my not win a SEC game if it continues like this. Also state players stating they knew what we were doing everytime they set up and came to the line of scrimmage . Looking at the game I believe them. Hell I knew Les was going to run the ball from the two and our first set of plays after opening kickoff was to the script that we alwasy seem to do when we feel the need to show the other guys we can run on you even if you load up with eight in the box. Got to love us some Les. He needs to move on the year 2014 and get out of 1914 time frame. Michgan will need a coach.

This I believe 100% It happens when you have a certain number of plays for one running back, a different number of plays for another. We also sub our tight ends in and out all the time and it seems like they have specific packages. May as well put a sign on their uniform saying what the play is.

However our lines aren't physically weaker than any other teams. We managed to make ourselves look weak at times last week as well.

If you aren't going to do anything different on the first few series, then why not run them back to back out of a no huddle and get it over with. Then maybe the defense would be caught a little by surprise. If we happen to get a first down or two, then look to the sidelines.

Beat our arse, then stomped on us while on the ground. They would have taken their dicks out and pissed on us after knocking us to the ground - if it was not on TV.

Nope. It's all in coaching. Plus they had the advantage in returning Juniors and Seniors. But CLM has fostered and encouraged the early exit to the NFL culture taking root at LSU. Maybe now everybody will begin to see what "dividends" it pays.

miles will dodge that question all day long.

this team has two people trying to run the offense.
