My ideal offseason would be getting a pick back for Santana, trading BJ, CJ and Gattis and signing J Hey and J Up to extensions.

IDGAF about the rest of the roster outside of Teheran and Freeman.

Even if we had a perfect offseason the most money we would have to spend towards next season would probably be $10M. Do not sign any FA with a pick attached.

I don't really care whether or not we compete next year. My only goal is correcting some of the huge mistakes and starting to improve the system.

Maybe we'll be competitive again by the time the new stadium opens...

This offseason is very critical.

You have to package Gattis with BJ if you want any team to even consider picking up part of BJ's contract.

What a mess. A team full of unflated contracts for players who can't hit and a depleted farm system. Wren deserves a stiff kick in the balls.

Braves new world: tax avoidance meets brand rehab

quote:

I went to Turner Field Wednesday for the first time this year with some friends. We penciled in the date weeks ago because it looked like the Braves might be in the thick of a playoff race.

However, the previous night, the Washington Nationals celebrated in Turner Field as division champs, and the prospect of a wild card berth was as improbable as a B.J. Upton hitting streak. (The Braves were eliminated from playoff contention Sunday.)

Somehow, it was fitting that the embarrassment of watching their rivals dance on their diamond came on the same day the Braves broke ground on the new ball field they are building 12 miles up I-75 in Cobb County.

I was a part of a season ticket group for about 15 years, from 1993, when Braves Fever was infectious, until about 2009, when the charm had worn off.

I think with the right GM and hitting coach, we can survive Fredi.

If we don't at the very least fire the hitting coach, next season will be pointless and I will not care.

They may be holding off on firing any coaches until Copolella agrees to the job. Then he can fire whoever (fredi and walker) he wants.

listening to the press conference going on right now (Fox Sports South), and they've said that the new General Manager will have a big say in the future of the coaching staff and that they (Scheurholz, Hart, and Cox) have not spoke to Fredi regarding his position going forward.
