I feel like this is a toss up. The obvious choice you would think would be patterson but he has no one that can get him the ball. Plus I think Maclin going against Washingtons secondary should help. Thoughts?

One of my shortcomings is that I usually choose offensive players on better offenses. I tend to go with the receiver with the better qb.

I would go with Maclin in this case. While straight up Patterson is the more talented guy, Maclin is in an offense that is just about to start firing on all cylinders.

I expect big games from Maclin and even Cooper soon.

Maclin

Patterson looked good on Sunday, but Cassell is terrible.

I'd go with Patterson because with Peterson out he's the only playmaker left. He should be all over the field seeing plenty of targets and also work out of the backfield. Saints will likely go up early so he could put up some nice garbage time points as well.

I think Patterson has more upside, this is probably your flex or wr3, so I'd roll with him.

Not trying to be abrasive, but take that analysis, substitute Patriots for Saints, and go watch last week's game. Cassel is so bad that it greatly affects Patterson's value. Cassel looked awful... at home. I'm going to sit Patterson this week.

I have no other option so I am throwing Patterson out but I feel like they give him the ball every chance they can. The saints have been known to give up big plays and thats what Patterson is.

I wish I could agree with you, but last week shook my confidence.

To me it's all about matchups and the Patriots D are not the Saints D. I'm not sure if you noticed but the Saints secondary has been playing horribly and much worse than the Patriots. I think if Hoyer and that hobbit Hawkins can put up solid fantasy points there should be no reason why a QB as mediocre as Cassel couldn't put up as good or even better numbers with a superb talent like Patterson.

You have to downgrade Patterson some without AD in the backfield. Peterson faces more eight (and occasionally even nine!) man boxes than any rb in the league and it is not even close. There will be less room in the secondary for Patterson to work where he is still raw a route runner. I think Maclin is the safer, but Patterson is always a great home run option.

Patterson.

Its Saints @home, they're going to score, so Minnesota has to respond.

The Saints' defense has been porous as of late, so expect yards through the air and ground (which Patterson can probably pick up 40-50 yards)
