Family land. Small little shack/cabin on a hill overlooking a small lake . Gone without running water for 30 years but I want some now. I'm not really concerned about having a toilet. I can go shite in the woods. Basically all I want to be able to do with it is wash dishes and take a shower. If someone could explain how to do this like you're talking to a dumbass id appreciate it. Thanks

Eta: if you can tell me how to get the water hot for my showers that would be awesome too

Well if you are going to do all that why not put in a toilet?

Can you dig a well?

Get one them square plastic tanks to catch rain water. Then plumb your lines. My camp uses a small 12 volt pump that they use on RV's.

(edit) like this

Some type of generator powered water pump, some pvc, and faucets. Maybe get a trench dug, bed it with some rocks, and put the pvc in there and bury it.

Curious, have you ever watched that show Mountain Men? I've been streaming season 1 for a couple of weeks and one of the guys had running water from a stream. He basically had a large pipe opening in the stream, that fed a pair of 55 gallon drums, and another small pvc pipe coming out of the bottom one. It all ran downhill back to his shack. Gravity fed. And the drums were there to that he'd have about 100 gallons in reserve, plus whatever was in the pipes, if it hadn't rained and the stream wasn't flowing.

I don't know. Guess I could. Just doesn't bother me shitting in the woods

I don't know if I could or not. I can't really get any heavy machinery back near my camp. The road and dam aren't in the best condition. Shovel seems like a lot of work

Where would I buy one of those? How much are they? Do I just put it next to my camp?

also you could put a water tank up high, (build a stand for it) pump the water to it, paint it black, and have hot water and pressure.

put a powerful sump in the lake with buried PVC going to an old claw foot bathtub mounted on the roof with half inch PVC running to a filtration system or reverse osmosis system then separate line to a small, electric hot water heater.

Sounds like you should be offering a hunting or fishing trip so someone will come get you squared away with running H2O.

I saw that setup in rural Pennsylvania. It's cheap and you can get most of the supplies at Lowes or Home Depot.

That. Offer someone trips for a few times if they help get you set up.

I'm afraid to IRL people and honestly I'd be embarrassed to take anyone out there because the camp itself isn't anything to write home about and I have no ATVs or anything. Just a small bateau.

You should also just put in a toilet and septic tank.

Pump water from the lake to a tank some storage container higher than the building. Keep the hoses in place, but move the pump when you aren't using it so it doesn't get stolen.

Run a splitter off of the tank to the camp and you can have multiple faucets/shower. Being on the roof will also warm the water. Put proper chlorine mixture to clean tank water
