Sorry if its already been mentioned here. Search didn't find anything. The shopping app now handles it all.

I knew about it but didn't say anything on here. It's cool I guess if you didn't already have Netflix.

I feel the same way. I was excited last week when I saw they added android support b/c I have recently started to accept slower shipping to get Amazon video credits when I'm not in a hurry for something. However, I soon realized that they lack of chromecast support makes this pretty useless for me.

Maybe I'm just different, but do people actually want to watch tv and movies on their phone? I can't think of many situations where I would do this.

Many set-top boxes run android and now have more options. A lot of android tablets (like my Archos 101g9) have microhdmi out and can be controlled by another android device, serving a similar purpose. Several tablets are MiraCast capable and can wireless broadcast their screens to their TVs. And lastly, yes. I use a tablet to stream movies at times.

Well I have movies I have purchased from Amazon that I can play on my iPad Mini but not my Nexus tablet devices. Its pretty aggravating to have a purchase I can only watch on my TV at home. I like to download movies for my son to watch on trips where we do not have wifi.

Well that plan is gone. They do not allow download just streaming. Not sure why they half assed the app like that.

Outside of landing HBO's catalogue, which was a massive win for them, Amazon instant isn't nearly up to snuff with Netflix yet.

I have Netflix and use prime. However my main goal is to just download and play the movies that I purchased from Amazon Instant. They developed the app for Apple to where it could download and play the content offline. They developed the Android app to just stream. If I get on an airplane I would like to be able to use the app. Pretty sure they allow the Fire tablets to download content as well.
