Trying to get a gauge. Won't make many games this year with the wife being pregnant.

What time does contraflow on Nicholson start? After 3rd quarter?

How long before contraflow is cleared out in this area?
Wondering if tailgating around nicholson, dropping off supplies, going park, and then pickup of said supplies is difficult. Does contraflow last 2 hours, or does it clear out quickly?

Is tailgating around the law center packed? looking at this, to be an option. How bad is parking in this area? How quickly does the parking garage fill up?

Tailgating around the lakes around Parker coliseum.
Is parking bad around parker? What time does it start filling up?

My wife is about to pop any second, so all i can really do is go scout, which i may do this weekend. Just wondering if anyone had more information.

I have a question as well, staying at my parents house after the LSU vs MSU game, I have heard that they have made it difficult to get back to the neighborhoods off brightside? Any suggestions how to approach this? I usually park on the levee lots or if I can find a spot the vet school lot. So I go back river road.

as far as the law center goes it depends on the game. the next two weeks and kentucky it probably won't be horrible. still the lot starts to get full after 10 or so.

edit: i don't tailgate at law center, i just park there sometimes.

Wouldn't know... I stay the whole game.

If you leave after the 4th ends, the cops will allow the cross streets to free-flow for 30 min. Don't expect contraflow to be any benefit versus in the past.

I live off Brightside and Tailgate in the middle of campus I've been having problems too. From what I read they aren't allowing you to turn left onto Brightside. From river road. If you can get to nicholson you could take a right onto brightside there or cut through alvin dark behind tigerland. You may be able to turnaround on river road and backtrack I have heard of other people doing this.

Personally I've been going to the penthouse club for an hour or so until traffic clears out.

I've heard you show them your license and they will let you through. But it is BS that they don't let you turn left on brightside after the game, if memory serves me correctly lots of people did that after the game.

I'm thinking about parking on the old back nine lot or the other public lot near there.

That just means she's the official designated driver...tell her to get with the program.

I'm not worried about getting out ahead of traffic. I sold my season tickets this year, so i'm worried about getting my tailgate broken down and in my truck. But with the way contra flow is broken out, it will be impossible to even get to my tailgate area once contra flow starts. So curious how early i need to retrieve my truck to start packing up.

If you live ON Brightside (between Nicholson and River Road) you should be fine by taking Nicholson and turning right on Brightside. Once you do that though, you're stuck.

but you can't get there going via river road? I always park in the river road side when I go to games.

Note: this is my first game of the season I'm going to.

I don't care about getting stuck on brightside.

So my concern is this, if I park on the levee lots or hayfield (the largest public parking lot on campus on gamedays) I can't get home. I have heard our neighborhood committee or group (what ever they are called) are trying to fix this.

I also think anyone who may have reserved spots on skip bertman drive will also be effected.

If I park in the levee lot area, can I take Nicholson all the way to Ben Hur?

levee lot has to exit onto river road, either head downtown or towards New Orleans. Apparently now they are preventing south bound traffic on river road from turning on brightside.

I understand it works from the Nicholson drive side but parking on that side is a lot less for public parking.

Supposedly they have fixed the issue and are allowing residents down Brightside.

I live in this area and had no problem taking a left onto Brightside from River Road after the SHSU game.

If there is a barricade ask the officer to let you through and give him your father's address.
