And keep in mind that FT is a liberal, if a bit of a weird one. If you're not familiar with this season of MasterChef, you can be quickly brought up to speed. Courtney won, and unattractive female trolls have been hating on her on Hulu comments from day one. See, Courtney became a dancer at a gentleman's club to make ends meet. You can imagine the feminist's reactions.

My thoughts below:

I have a theory on women's virulent hatred of Courtney. It's pretty simple.

Attractive, talented girl falls on hard times. Lands a spot on Masterchef. Undesirable women flock and expect her to fail from day one. After all, she's using her body to make money and please men. The storyline doesn't allow for that. Sexy girls can't also be talented. Most importantly, she's not following the game plan. It was vital that Courtney be humbled. Falling in line with ancient norms, even out of necessity and through no fault of her own, could not stand.

But she continues to win, and mostly dominate. This flies in the face of the mantra that average women always hear; that the pretty girls aren't talented and won't ever make it once their beauty fades. She's a threat and a reminder that the best, the most attractive, the most talented and hardest working will always win. And the people with all of those traits will win biggest.

Hulu blows up early on with feminists and jealous women, desperate to see her fail. They need it. They complain about her voice, her heels, her clothing. They make up reasons that she isn't as talented as the others. She continues to succeed and thrive. Women start complaining more. She wins. Her fans celebrate, and undesirable women melt down because the only thing they had going for them was Elizabeth, the plain, successful-in-business girl they all saw themselves one day being.

They can still be Elizabeth, and more. But most of the complainers won't be. Because they'll blame the "system" that made Courtney a winner. It's a shame. Most women (and certainly most men) could be more than they are. But they won't be, because they feel attacked, because the more self conscious and uneasy among them remind themselves and others, constantly, that they're under attack, never mind the fact that beautiful and talented women aren't the norm and can't possibly be the majority.

We need to acknowledge some truths:

Evolution, human preferences, talent, intelligence, skill and beauty will keep winning. Always. Because those things aren't fads. Fat girls, obnoxious girls, annoying girls, whatever, can keep making waves about any number of things and blaming the system. But humanity is the system, evolution is the reason, and the best men will keep mating with the best women. Courtney reminds them of that, and it's almost too much to bear.

Let's all take a stand, here and now, to end the hate. Let's stand behind attractive, talented women. Let's defend their right to speak in whatever tone they like, to wear the shoes they want and to fricking curb stomp the competition.

Women who harness all of their femininity can be devastatingly powerful.
The right combo of brains and beauty can melt the strongest of men (except the gay ones).

The modern feminist movement has gone from equal access and opportunity for women, to demanding a "reprogramming" of not just how we raise men (see the ESPN commentary from the other day), but of both well established societal norms AND NATURE.

I'm not sure I agree with your reasons for the hate she received. Yes, there is definitely some jealousy there from some but many true feminists are angry that she was able to win using her boys instead of her brains.

The hypocrisy of feminism is that it argues for women to be comfortable with their bodies, to make their own decisions about their bodies, to have the freedom to use their bodies as they choose without being labeled as a slut or whore. And yet, when women use their bodies to succeed or gain an advantage, many feminists are offended that the woman objectified themselves - the same thing they fight against with men.

Feminists wAnt women to thrive and be better than men - not equal but better - using their brains. They sneer and belittle women who use their body as an extra or only tool for success while fighting for the woman's right to do so without judgement from men.

And this is the ultimate issue I have with hard core feminists. They support Nd elevate only those women who demonstrate their narrative.

It's transformed into a hatred and jealousy of successful women, pretty women and stay at home moms. If they believed in equal rights then they'd applaud these women for pursuing the path they want.

All it is though is they want someone to bow down to them and give them theirs because they are usually unattractive or in talented so they downplay their faults by pretending they are intentionally that way by choice and refuse to appease men. They know that attractive women are at an advantage so they try to convince society to reject being attractive in order to level the playing field. It's a movement not for rights but rather spawned out of pure jealousy because society rejects them

Spot on. It's like the movie Bridesmaids. The more attractive rival is redeemed only when it is revealed that she is incompetent and stupid. Only after the main character has to bail her out of her mistakes is she likable. The target audience needs to know that beauty is all she has going for her. If not, she would remain a villain.

no "spoilers" in the title? Watched that whole season...no need to enjoy the finale now.

This is why I hate feminism, etc.
If feminism was about empowering women, all women,I would be more likely to support.

As a woman, I am proud for any woman (really for any person - male,or female) that achieves success.

Feminists hate attractive women. A lot. Its because they have an advantage that can't be immediately mitigated. They can't demand "equality" in beauty.

you are making sweeping generalizations based on internet comments?

What generalizations should we make of males based on the same set of evidence?
