Political signs on leased property

I showed up to work this morning and there is a big political sign out on front of our business. We lease the office building. We were not asked permission or even given a heads up by the landlord. Now, I don't know who the person running for office is or any of their views, but I don't want our business to seemingly be endorsing any certain politician. I'm normally of the opinion that the property owner can do what ever he likes, but making it look like we endorse a certain political candidate when we don't is crossing a line IMO. Is this legal in Louisiana? Can i go take it down and throw it in the dumpster?

I mean shite, I even know some people who's landlord would sell parking spots in their front yard on gamedays. Their cars would get blocked in and yard trashed by cars

You don't own the property, he does.
That said, you can complain and ask that he take it down.
As long as you are current on the rent...

And on the same subject. Had LSU GM of Sports Properties show up at our tailgate Saturday and tell us to remove a political sign we hung on our tent for one of my friends.
According to him, it is LSU policy that no political advertisements be displayed on campus. Meanwhile, they sold a spot to a big private business to promote their products in the next tailgate spot over.

I wouldn't be cool with it either - even if I did support that candidate. Pretty shitty of the landlord to be doing that even if it is legal.

And.....is there something else to the story? I'm not seeing the issue.

Yep, and if you have a tarp or pop-up with a company logo on it, they'll make you take it down.
A few years ago a guy came in with an RV with a wrap on it that advertised some wine or liquor. LSU mage him drape sheets all over it.

So what does the lease say?

Apparently the landlord didn't approve it either. Someone working for the campaign just put it up without any permission whatsoever.
