They just scored a TD making it 16-21 with the Broncos having the lead and 7:11 left on the clock in the 4th. Reid kicked the PAT and made it 17-21. Now, they are down 4 and still need to either stop Manning the score a TD to take lead or kick two field goals to take lead. If they go for 2 and make it it is 18-21 and a 3 pt game. If you miss it, it's still 16-21 and you are in exact same scenario as 17-21. How do NFL coaches continually make the wrong decisions week after week???

Yes he did. He's an idiot too. I dont understand how people that evaluate football for a living can be so incompetent.

Clock and scoreboard management were never Andy's strong suits. He didn't even let McNabb know you can tie a game in the NFL

It's because hold to fg you still aren't down needing another 2pt play

Jesus, there is literally no reason not to go for two right there. He significantly reduced his team's chance to win the game.

You have to go for two again to tie.

I agree with not going for two, makes no sense.

You're playing the Broncos. 7 minutes left. Chances are the Broncos are going to put another drive on you. You have to hold the to three whether or not you went for 2. If you go for it and miss you're down 8 after a Broncos fg. Fat man knows how to handle this.

Chiefs hold the Broncos to 3 and now they're only down 7. Time to go to work.

You go for 2, it becomes 18-21 or 16-21. If you go for the PAT it becomes 17-21.

You assume denver will get a FG:
16-24 (needs another TD w/ a successful 2pt conversion to tie)
17-24 (needs another TD w/ a PAT to tie)
18-24 (needs another TD w/ a PAT to win)

If its a TD, its over anyway. Going for the PAT was the right choice.

And the law of averages are on your side. NFL teams convert 2 pt conversion 49%. Makes no sense? So it makes no sense to make it a 3 pt game instead of a 4 pt game and give your team the potential to tie it up with a FG in one possession?
