Florida St. Returned lots of players and a Heisman QB. I think they'll drop one in the regular season.

Alabama. Defense is shaping up and the offense is starting to roll. Will fully answer this question when they play UF.

Oregon. Beat MSU at home. Looked more physical than in past years.

Oklahoma. Not entirely sold on them, but they seemed fairly strong against UT.

Texas A&M. There are major questions on the defense no doubt. They looked human against Rice. Score should have been closer. But they stuck it to USCe.

Well, have those teams played better than us?

If you remove Alabama from this, you can say the same thing to describe LSU.

well said
There is no team ranked ahead of us, that if we played them they would beat us without a doubt!! With our D we can stop every team ahead of us. Our O last night was as vanilla as a spring game, that was no where near the O we ran the 1st two games!

I'm not saying that those teams are necessarily better than us. But they have looked better than us. Most of the teams only have one game to measure. Florida st looked pretty bad against Okie St. Oregon beats a top 5 team. That's sold. Alabama looks pretty solid. They're secondary is suspect. As is A&M's.

We need more games to really fill out how the games will shake out. Everyone is playing conservative against small schools. No reason to open the playbook up and expose what the offense plans to do if you can run a goal line set and win.
LSU's one marquee win came from Wisconsin and we pulled it out in the end.

We can agree to disagree.

FSU , 2014, looks decent...top 15, maybe.

O...well, they look like they always do...until they play someone. We put them in their place right off the bat last year. They'll get there soon enough.

Bama...not impressed. I doubt their fans , the few that are realist, are either.

Okie...no. Just no.

Tamu...Chief has a belly laugh when he thinks of them. They were exposed by the UGA/USCe debacle. They will not compete for the Westtitle.

It's 2014. We played them in 2011.

Oregon has a very good QB, Oklahoma looks just as fast & Baylor can score points but I also like us in every game....

My point is that the only reason we aren't in the top three is the preseason polls. Places get locked in, based on last years results or expectations, and so far, they are unsupported and unrealized by team play.

I must be the only one rarely impressed by Oregon.

OP- A&M looked impressive until yesterday. Some say rice isn't bad though

I believe his point is we have the talent and players to compete with anybody; which is true.

We also had the talent and players to beat everyone last year, but we still had 3 losses.

Auburn: Solid run game, solid passing attack. Meh defense. The game is at Auburn.

I think every game on our schedule is winnable. The one that worries me the most is Auburn. Even though our Defense matches up well with them. It's still at Jordan-Hare which isn't an easy place for us to play at.

I used to say that till they started winning BCS bowls and went on to an undefeated season with a NC. That team is clicking. They're going undefeated again unless they just collapse to some extremely inferior opponent. Probably Louisville.

They did get there soon. They beat the defending Rose Bowl in a top 5 matchup. And we played them in 2011. It's 2014.

Fairly certain they're in the same boat as we are, but they seem more consistent. By the way. They're also 3-0 against LSU recently. (This year changes it.)

This is the only one I could agree that could be debatable. But they looked strong so far and complete against UT.

They crushed a top 10 team. As far as the argument about UGA/USCe.. Welcome to the SEC where anyone can beat anyone. By the way technically they compete for the title every year. Doesn't mean they have a chance.

I like our chances against any spread or passing team. Bama will be a struggle like always but I think we have the offense to score some points on them and win the game.

A waste of time question. Doesn't matter what we think just what they do on the field. Still way too early in the season, especially with so many young players to be comparing us to other teams we haven't played.
