So my wife(no pics)brought this in to the kids from the garden...
any idea what kind of snake it is?
I was thinking corn snake but it's still too young for me to tell what the heck it is...
curious if it would be a good snake for a pet.
the kids had a corn snake with cool markings and colorings years ago...
May just turn him loose to prevent any rodents.

This. Not to be confused with the Brown Snake of Australia.
Also known as DeKay's snake.

I don't think they eat rodents, mostly earthworms or slugs maybe? They don't get very big.

Yeah. I leave them alone so they can work on the slug and snail population.

My kids have had several, and have been unable to keep any alive for more than two weeks or so. I think ours die due to my girls taking the snake out to play with it 20x each day though.
Also: Your wife is more OB than 3/4 of the OB.
