Google Chrome -- Administrator in IT Department

Looks like our IT department has locked our settings in Google Chrome. Each time I close google chrome i lose all my cookies and then have to re-enter whenever I come back in. I can turn this off in chrome settings but it's grayed out because it's locked and says "this setting is enforced by your administrator". Is there any workaround to this so I can keep my cookies locked in Chrome?

this is probably a part of your company's security policy, so I'd say the only workaround is to go to work somewhere else...

Sounds like the admin has implemented Google chrome GPOs. It's a way to manage settings across the enterprise. It's not very easy to bypass.

And it's almost certainly a violation of the IT policies you agree to abide by to attempt to bypass this security. Just type your passwords in. It's not worth potentially losing your job.

This is the correct answer.

Just ask your IT department if that's a hard and fast rule and if not, whether or not they mind writing a rule in group policy that allows you to use Chrome. Promise to let them have your first born if you screw up and get a virus.

They're probably doing it to avoid every a-hole in the building calling I.T. for help instead of doing things like clearing cookies when one of their websites isn't working properly.

Try running from a flash drive...you can install it there from portableapps. com.

Or change the path to chrome.
